Comparing the Canon GP-4000 VS the Canon PRO-4100 print color quality.

Are they vinyl prints? Does it have a smell when printing, does it dry write after printing?

Hi, I'm using Canon pro 1000 for years and that printer was good to me and made me lots of money. However, my customers are asking for bigger prints so I'm looking to upgrade to the 25 inch. I do marine industrial landscape photography with sort of a surrealistic hdr look. I figured this new gp printer would bring out the those colors exeptionly well. What are your thoughts on it?

Hello! Yes that was a great printer! Hmmmm tough call on landscape photos. I think you would actual be better off with the Pro 2100 actually. Better gradients for sky tonality. The GP shines when in comes to graphics and solid colors that are hard to hit like neon colors. Give us a ring we can chat more. 1-888-459-1482

For professional landscape type photography housed in galleries, which of the two would you pick? I want a printer that has that VIVID POP like quality to it.

This is Jon from Pro digital Gear. For landscapes I would definitely recommend the 2100/4100 for sure! Better tonality in the skies ect. The GP is more for graphics and hard to match Pantone colors ECT. And the 21/41 series is geared towards photography. Artwork, you could probably get away with both, although I would still lean towards 2100/4100.

What would you pick for individual and family portraits being the majority of prints. I assume the pro rather than the gp.

Hi, it depends what you are looking to print. The Pro-4100 is suitable for photos and fine art (i.e. canvases). The GP-4000 is more suited towards poster and marketing printing. Please give us a call with any questions! Thanks

The Yellows are printing incorrectly, it’s going towards snot green.

That tends to happen with incorrect settings for the built-in paper profiles used. I found that just lieing to the printer with testing a few of the pre-sets is the quickest way around that. No clue why it does snotty yellows on gloss. If you print on matte, it does super great yellows! For the Pro-Series, anyway
