Excellent pacing. It's the first time I hear this piece on youtube without the pianist suddenly accelerating usually at the start of the second page, or the middle of the third if they're a bit more experienced but still not using a metronome.
@DirkdeZwijger Жыл бұрын
in my humble opinion I don't mind the slight acceleration. The music is picking up pace and maturity so it's a logical and justified choice I feel like, but this is cool and nice too
@ioannispaxinos5171 Жыл бұрын
@@DirkdeZwijger The music obviously accelerates. It goes from quarters, to eighths, to sixteenths. But the pacing shouldn't accelerate, it's still 4/4.
@ArrowAlter Жыл бұрын
@@ioannispaxinos5171 imo it's a justified choice to speed up and it also tells you to (at some points) on the sheet.
@ioannispaxinos5171 Жыл бұрын
@@ArrowAlter Νοt really. Yes it turns into 16ths but it's still 4 quarters.
@ArrowAlter Жыл бұрын
@@ioannispaxinos5171 what’s more important than playing perfectly in time is making it sound good, and it does. it’s their interpretation of the piece after all, if you don’t agree that doesn’t mean they’re wrong. at the end of the day music is art. playing like a computer isn’t the goal.

Was learning this piece about 6 months ago and then got to the second to the last page where both the left and right hand are playing equally complex patterns and I just couldn’t go any further. I started working on other pieces and took a break from Canon. Now a couple of weeks ago I started working on it again and much to my surprise I can actually play the hard part now. This is a great arrangement for a timeless piece.

In 1:55 (major 25) how did you use the pedal here? Are you changing it every one cord like the beginning or is it every two cords? I hope the you understande me and reply, thank you!
@thichquang80326 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure how he does it, but I pedal the same for this entire piece (every measure/chord). The pedaling remains the same when the left hand speeds up because it's still playing the same chord. I'm also pretty sure that Lee Galloway does it it this way as well. He's the original arranger of this composition. Watch him play his piece here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6immIZqj79qpq8

why do you have no comments enabled on alot of your videos ?
@BachScholar8 жыл бұрын
I disabled comments on most of the most viewed videos several years ago but haven't disabled comments on any of the videos made in the last two years or so, except for the most popular ones. The reason is that reading and responding to several hundred comments every day is too time consuming. About five years ago before I disabled all the comments I was spending about three hours a day reading and responding to comments. And that was five years ago. I now get over 23K views a day and the last thing I want to do is read comments all day long. Some have told me that I should enable comments but not read them, but anyone in the world knows this is not logical. There is no point of enabling comments if the performer can't read them. I have had many people message me as if they were "their" videos and how dare I make it so they can't comment, but in reality they are my videos and I can do as I please.
@laflamezz19078 жыл бұрын
BachScholar I never thought about that. Ok thats reasonable :)
