Great video! I just started using my custom presets options and set C1 up to lower shutter speed lower iso for still birds and C2 for higher shutter speed with a iso bump. This way when I am waiting for a humming bird I can just bump the one knob and grab regular birds and then bump it back to C2 high speed when I am anticipating the humming bird. So far its working out and is faster than trying to adjust each setting in the moment.

That is awesome! These new bodies and how we can program them to do what we want is so awesome. I just push the shutter speed up and down and keep the ISO in auto. I am still a little old school. 🙏🤗💖

Thank you, thank you!!! I try to do that on most of my others but for this trying to keep most everything the same, I shot at the lowest aperture for each lens, and a shutter speed of 4004 with a few exceptions using the 200-800. The ISO was set in auto but since the light was perfect, it did not get too high. This for me, is my creative outlet as music once was and it makes me happy. Being able to share with you is the best part so thank you, thank you, thank you!!! It really does mean the world to me. 🙏🤗💖

Thank you, thank you!!! I was a Nikon shooter too and switched with the R5. I did own a Z9 for about 6 month but could not get long Z glass so I sold it. Depending on which body you are shooting, the Z8 and Z9 I think have the advantage with the larger sensor and dual processors. But when I had the Z9, I found the AF to be severely lacking compared to any of the Canons - and that is why I switched to begin with. I do have a rental Z8 and Z 600 with a 1.4 extender coming in that I have been waiting for. Seems that everyone was renting for the eclipse so I had to wait for my rental. I am really looking forward to the updated firmware. One thing I am really loving that I thought I would not is the smaller files to work with. Never forget that the best combo is the one in your hands! Thank you, thank you. 🙏💖🤗 PS - the BEST camera ever made and of all time in my opinion is the Nikon D800. My all time #1 favorite still. A beast that makes you think for every shot.

Chris - after seeing your video with that lens, I have thought a lot about it. And, I was thinking of the R50 for video because of the weight. I have a Z8 and Z 600 combo coming that I have been waiting for so that will be a big one up next so maybe after that - and I really want to try the OM1 MKii as well. And..... I want to go shoot/look for humming birds in Arizona too! You got me really wanting to try that lens though. 🙏💖🤗

Thanks for sharing another video with absolutely stunning photos. I'm really thrilled to see what the RF200-800 can do with the right camera. Thank you in Denmark from here in mostly sunny southern California!! On the R7, ,my favorite lens is the 100-500. I prefer that over the 200-800 on the R7. Even with the 1.4 extender, it think it is an awesome set up. The 200-800 is a fantastic lens but it pushes the ISO up. For that reason, I think it is better on a full frame camera. that handles the higher ISO better. Enjoy your R7 - it is an AWESOME camera. 🙏🤗💖

la R5II è superiore alla R3, è alla pari con la R1 se non addirittura migliore. la Canon R5II forse è la vera ammmiraglia delle mirrorless.
@stefanonacci6249
@stefanonacci6249 Ай бұрын
@stefanonacci6249
@stefanonacci6249 Ай бұрын
The R5II is superior in quality to the Canon R3, but it is slower and I work worse in low light situations. The R3 is more for sports, the Canon R5II in my opinion is more generic, it is good for everything, both for wildlife photography, it is certainly superior for landscapes and portraits. In fact, the R3 has an AF range of EV -7.5 while the R5II only has EV-6.5. The Canon R3 has a shutter speed of up to 1/64,000, while the R5II stops at 1/32,000. The Canon R3 has an ISO sensitivity of up to 204,600 while the R5II stops at 102,400. The Canon R3 has a monitor with 4.15 million dots, while the R5II stops at 2.1 million dots. The Canon R3 has a battery life of 860 shots, while the R5II stops at 630. The points in favor of the Canon R5II are the 45 MPX against the 24 mpx of the R3, but on this point for me it is worth nothing, in my opinion more pixels does not mean better quality, for many people who use cell phones this factor is worth a lot, but not for professional photographers, it has 8.5 stops of stabilization against the 8 stops of the R3, it has 8k video against the 4k of the R3 but I don't care at all, the most interesting data in favor of the R5II is that it has AF exposure on 6144 zones against the 384 of the R3. I chose the Canon R3.

I noticed that the 200-800mm is more tac-sharp whereas the 600mm is very soft on the focus, maybe the 1.4 extender is downgrading the quality? The squirrel shots in the beginning I really noticed the tac-sharp vs the soft and then with the doves. EDIT: maybe just me but I see some vignetting on the 600 w/Extender
@JonnyPink65
@JonnyPink65 3 ай бұрын
That is not the case. The 200-800 is a great lens, but is not as sharp as the 600 with 1.4 when viewing on my edit monitors. I shot this as a comparison and keep in mind that KZbin compresses and it also depends on if you watch on your phone, computer or casting...... and the time of day when going through he internet LOL. On my edit monitors, the there is no comparison. And, I dont use the 200-800 that often - I find it not as sharp as the 100-500 that I WOULD put up against the 600 with or without the extender. 🙏🤗💖

Thanks for your excellent videos. There is no doubt that the Canon 600 R/4 lens is phenomenal. The 200-800 cannot compare to the 600 f/4. The 200-800 does a good job on the R3. I'm on my way to 200-800 if they ever send it to me Jajaja

Thank you, thank you!! Neither is perfect and both have advantages over the other. I do feel fortunate to have the 600 F4, but even my older 500 F4 that I traded to get the 600 was pretty awesome - and that was an OLD lens. Both of these lenses I prefer to shoot full frame either on the R5 or now the R3. And on the R7, I think my favorite lens for that is the 100-500. Advantages and disadvantages. 🙏💖🤗

It's hard to tell from this video. Most of them look oversharpened, as if they were cropped too much and/or oversharpened. The 200-800 actually looks better on most too, which doesn't make sense. I'm viewing on a 28" 4K monitor. On smaller screens or especially phones, this won't show up. If you could upload RAW files somewhere, that would tell the story better. Also, you have pretty much perfect conditions there where you're very close to the birds and have bright sunlight, almost any lens will look good under these conditions. But that's usually not how it is in practice, where birds are quite a bit far away, and it's not always sunny like this. This is when the need to crop a lot comes in, and all the flaws of the lens/camera will become apparent. All I can tell from this video is that the 200-800 appears to be adequately sharp in good conditions (also, are they all at 800mm?), but I don't know if that's still true when you start pushing this lens.

First, thank you for watching and letting me share. I process all my photos to my preference and I think we all have something different that we like or are looking for. I process my photo the same way I always have with the exception that this camera is body is only 24 megapixels. I LOVE the dual processors but would prefer larger - ah well, no set up is perfect. Some I crop, some I don't but even printing when cropped, I think they look great. Before I put my stuff up, I do watch until I am satisfied, if not, I re-edit. I cast to the TV we have in our living room my wife wanted - the 65" 4K hi-def Samsung something - it looks great for movies LOL. On that, I can see flaws and I do watch a lot of other peoples stuff as well - some like it bright, I like mine what I call dark and moody. As far as perfect light - I did get lucky and when I do a lens comparison, I do it same day, same conditions, same camera body etc. Saying that, I have shot both of these in the rain in low light and sun in perfect light. The 200-800 is a great lens for my on a full frame body like the R3 or R5 but I did not care much for it on the R7. Yeah, I can fill the frame and get every detail out of the sensor, but it is a slow lens so even in bright light, it pushes the ISO too high for what I think the R7 can handle. And then - NO SET UP IS PERFECT. I love the 100-500 on the R7 even with the 1.4 extender but prefer the 200-800 on FF. My favorite is my 600 F4 with a 1.4 extender but it gets super heavy after a couple of hours - advantages and disadvantages. And to processing...... I again process like I always have in light room with the exception that I use their denoise set on about 20 in place of the masks and brushes I used to use. Easier and quicker. And then if it is still not to my liking, I will do more. Ido sharpen, but i also think that editing a photo is part of the presentation - or we would all just use the JPEGs out of camera!! I may do a video on how much I crop if I can get a chance. Thank you, thank you for letting me share. 🙏🤗💖

Of course if you "push" these lenses in less than ideal light the 600 f4 is going to perform better. It's a $12,000.00 f4 L Series lens!! No one, least of all Canon, has suggested that the 200-800 is a replacement for the 600 f4 or 800 5.6! What it is is an affordable, reasonably portable alternative for those times when it's appropriate, either because you need maximum portability, need the ability to zoom, or simply cannot afford the fixed focal length L lenses. Of course he was shooting the 200-800 in good light! You don't take a knife to a gun fight! It's a great lens in appropriate situations.
@vitaminb4869
@vitaminb4869 6 ай бұрын
@@alansach8437 I'm not saying it's a replacement to 600/4. I wanted to know how well it compares to 600/4, since there were some reviews showing the 200-800 is quite soft at 800mm, but it might not be apparent under perfect conditions or in editted photos. It will become apparent once you start pushing it, and then realize you're not getting the proper detail resolution with it, so now can't crop enough or just the image is overall looking soft.
@JonnyPink65

@@alansach8437 Amen!! I do get asked a lot - "what is a good set up?", and all I can do say it depends on your needs, your requirements as far as weight and distance you plan to walk, conditions..... and budget. I try to keep that in mind a lot when I do stuff like this. For most, this lens is a dream lens but I try to impress that it also has limitations. There is no set up that is perfect - they all have compromises that we work around. The best part of all of it is getting out and just having fun!!! 🤗
