Oh my god, I'm speechless!! Thanks so much for taking up my question, it's actually proved to be VERY helpful and also so reassuring as we've spent the whole day choosing a full video kit. Now we know the Sigma 16mm will definitely do the job and fit Kate in doing her Yoga stretches! We've just ordered the Canon M50 after seeing the quality of your youtube videos. We opted for M50 with the canon 15-45 & 55-200 lens package and ordering the Sigma 16mm lens separately as it's just fantastic. We've also added the Rode video mic pro and Joby 3k stand with the Rode wireless Go and lavalier Go for different applications after seeing you use these - We can tell you research well and like all the best kit :) Thanks again, I think Kate will be subscribing to your channel too now! 👍🏻

Realy pleased that the video was useful and helped. Sounds like a great package you are ordering. The other thing you might wish to consider spare batteries depending on how much videoing you will be doing? There is also available a mains battery adapter, I purchased a non Canon one as it was a lot cheaper. All the best with your new projects 😎👍🏻

Stellar video, this is useful info! Have a few questions about your indoor office filmset in this video.... (1) Which lens, and are you shooting at f1.4? (2) Distance between you and camera? (3) Distance between you and the monitors behind you? (4) Viewable width of your film set? (i.e. distance between the lefthand monitor's left edge, and the righthand monitor's right edge?)

In that video I used the Sigma 30mm F1.4, prob about 1.5 m behind me to monitors and about same between me and camera. I dont use that setup any more, as you can see from my more recent videos. Hope this helped 😎👍🏻

Brilliant! Thanks a million JP... You're a star! LOVE your video - perfectly demonstrates that we are making the right choice with the M50 & Sigma 16mm. I'm 5'9'' so your use of props was awesome, shows that I'd fit in the screen at a stretch. I've subscribed to both your channels as I enjoy your great content and especially liked your slow motion of your daughter, bubbles and dog - great footage, fun to watch! Namaste

No problem, really pleased that this was helpful and helped with you making your choices. My daughter Mathilda is often found close by either helping with a second camera for b-roll or taking the thumbnail pictures which feature me! I have a couple of playlists that you might like 'Family Roving' and '2020 Roving' which are more film and story based videos opposed to camera equipment. 😎👍🏻

You appear to be a kindred spirit. I just subscribed. Keep up the great content and don't get discouraged! PS: I just received my M50 & 16mm Sigma lens *today* :) --So frustrating to wait for the battery to charge for the first time so I can start learning how to use my M50! So.. I guess that the 30mm one is the best for sit down beauty videos? I want to start a beauty channel I will buy the Canon M50, I don't know anything about cameras, and I have no idea which lens to buy 😂 I don't plan to vlog my life, so my camera will be fixed on a tripod in front of my table all the time

Try the Canon M50 with the standard 18-45mm kit lens at first as it might do the job just fine for you, if not then consider the Sigma f1.4 16mm or 30mm depending on how much room you are working with 😎👍🏻

Hi thank you for making such an informative video. It really helps us a lot with our purchase decisions. I'm still quite on the fence with the 16mm. Will it help alleviate some of the 4k crop of the M50? I hope you can provide some footage of a typical arm's reach Vlog style video of the 16mm in 4k? Thanks so much!ore power to you!

Hi Roving, I am new subscriber on your channel. I really like your videos. No messing around and straight to the point. I am also new owner of CanonM50 and new youtuber. I am using my kitlens atm for all my vlogging but I am thinking of getting canon 10-20mm EFS in future as i saw another video in which they were comparing sigma 16mm with canon 10-20 and canon lens came out much wider than Sigma. I am thinking of getting spare batteries for my camera. You mentioned in your video, that you got some third party battery for your cam. Can you let me know which brand? I don't trust much the cheap batteries from AliExpress and was gonna get the original one but as you mentioned in the video, they are really expensive and I would like to spent the money for lens or the wireless microphone. I saw you use the Rode wireless go. I am thinking of getting the Saramonic Blink 500 as it has 2 transmitters as well as 2 lavaliers included together with dead cat wind protectors for both of the lavaliers and all that for just 50$ more than the Rode one. Thank you for answer. Lubomir

Welcome and thanks! I'm assuming you have an adapter for the 10-20mm as its not an EF-M mount lens? 10mm is a lot wider, just check that it will deliver what you want! the pack of two batteries I purchased over 12 months ago and they are still working fine are Qumox and I purchased them on ebay, they came with a twin charger as well. The spec on the Sarmonic Blink 500 sounds good, let me know how it works out. 😎👍🏻
