Canon Powershot Elph 100 Hs (camera review)

I've had my power shot elf 100 hs for almost a year, but all I have used it for was to take photos, and videos using the default settings, so I am glad that I found this video, because I have been trying to find the option of using the full screen. I am currently in college, and my camera has been a vital tool, for both video, and photos. GOOD video!

It doesnt have many function modes, like night portrait or beach, but I never use them any way. It has good optical zoom, excellent video quality, the slow motion, a huge screen. The bad things are, it doesnt allow to change the zoom when recording and the image quality is standard Dont know if its for me.

Great review! I just bought this camera and haven't put it to use yet, so I figured I'd ask a few questions 1. Can I pause when recording a vid and come back to it? Also, what program can I use to edit my videos so I can put them on KZbin? I don't have a Mac just a PC. Thx in advance =)

Great review! I only see two flash settings: "auto" or "off." If subject is backlit I will want the flash to fire no matter what. Is there any way to do this with the 100 HS?

How do you transfer the video to the computer? Or does it only transfer photos?

@35divadiva You need to select the macro option, focus up close and then record. It doesn't have an auto focus while you are recording unfortunately.

@RockHardApps does it have fish eye? can u check for me? You get your User Guide, open it up, turn to the Index at the back, look up...Fish-Eye Effect (Shooting Mode)...which you will find under the letter...F, which then directs you to the appropriate page and shows you how to shoot your images using the Fish-Eye Effect Shooting mode.

Hello I just got this cam today in pink. Now the only problem I have is when I record and show something up close to read you can see it.. its Blury can u help me to make it focus when I'm showing something up close like words. It will auto focus on the pictures but not to record

The length of a movie is about five minutes. I wanted to know if there is a way to make that longer...or is it hard-coded in the camera's firmware?

I just did a test...it's 10 minutes and 10 seconds in High resolution in the highest settings. That may explain things. Because I prefer High Definition, I leave the setting in that mode. I guess I'll just be sure to make the scenes I shoot be less than ten minutes, then. Thanks for pointing out which resolutions offer more time for me, though. You rock!
