Ironically in 2024 people are ditching their smartphones for these cameras which are only growing in value. And more power to that I think this turnaround is fantastic.

I am a bit surprised they still command 40~50 dollars. I bought mine back in 2011 or 2012 and I still use it. My battery still holds a great charge. Still kinda fun to use.

Hey! I got this camera as a gift from my father, but he forgot how to use it. Do I need an SD card reader to move the photos from my canon to my computer?
@Sb129 Жыл бұрын
@@yasmeenz3170 Yeah pretty much, I think it has a mini usb cable but I have never tried it so I don't know if you can transfer pictures that way. An SD card reader is more convenient anyways since you can just have two cards and swap them.

I have a Canon ELPH 190 is. Love using a camera rather then a smart phone. In my opinion I think my pictures are way superior then those taken on the smart phone that everybody else uses. The other reason I do not use a phone to take a pictures is they have touch screens, and I find touch screens a big pain because I only have the use of one hand. My Canon ELPH 190 is does not have a touch screen and it has image stabilization so I am able to capture beautiful images,

These tiny point and shoot cameras for a bit of casual street photography when you don't want to pull out your rig or attract much attention. The idea is to be in the moment and capture it. Yes a phone will do that but they are still not a camera. Add a Wi-Fi SD card and you can edit as well as post to social media rather quickly with a raw, more film look.

Jan 2024 on ebay they are going upwards to $250. These would have been a good investment a couple years ago.

I bought a ELPH 300 many years ago and barely used it, maybe a handful of times. Just brought it out today and charging the battery. Going to use it and see how it looks.

I had a 300 HS, gave it to my mother. She loves it, and every time I see it and hold it I wish that I'd held on to it.

Hey Elias! Your video came into my home page. Just wanted to say great video, and that I still have this camera, bought it in 2012 I think. It still works, with some misfunctions because some times it won't turn off as the lens gets stuck and then an error message appears. Also, at some zoom level a dust spot appears in my pictures. Last trip I used it was to New Zealand in 2019. This year I bought a Canon G7X M3, to get a handy not so big lens camera, but a point and shoot as well (but much better photos for this one has a bigger sensor and better functions), the zoom is pretty much the same, 4X.

The good thing about this camera is how good the videos look in 1080p at 25 fps, the bad thing is the zoom lock and no AF during recording.

Hello young one. It’s pronounced “elf” not E.L.P.H. Elf as in “small”. The original Canon Elph cameras used the (then) very compact APS fills format. It was quite the revolution how small they were. When these cameras came out a lot of people short handed them as “digital elph”

This didn't age well. Good luck finding a good condition on in 2023 for under $100. The rise of the digicams.

Thing is not everyone buys an insanely priced top of the range phone. Most I ever spend on one is about £150 and the cameras are ok but not brilliant. Would rather spend some money on a separate camera that's better. I also hate taking photos on a phone. The form factor just never feels right to me

Another error in the video. He confused horizontal resolution with vertical resolution in saying 10x more. 360p: 640x360 2160p (4K): 3840x2160 These are different aspect ratios so you have to compare the vertical resolution. 6x more. In terms if number of overall pixels, 8mpix vs 1/4mpix. 32x more!

@@LeannaLuna-yp1oj You must have the battery charger. It's a separate unit which the battery goes into and it plugs directly into the wall.
