I feel like this camera has a lot of features packed in for a lot of people. Are you planning to pick up the canon R5 as a hybrid shooter, photographer or videographer?

@@TheExploringZ you’ll love it. I got it as my 2nd RF lens. Sharp corner to corner even at 2.8. Distortion is given considering it is so wide but huge upgrade from 16-35mm 2.8 II.

Solid review man! I just got done renting the R5 and it was an absolute BLAST to shoot with. It's soooo expensive, but I think I need to work my ass off to get one in my life haha.

Great video! It's good you talked about how people had bashed this camera but it is still an amazing photography camera and great video camera as well. If people are bashing the camera then they are not using the correct gear. I had the R6 and switched over to the R5. LOVED the R6 but with my architecture photography I needed the 45mp.
@RickyCheung3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I agreed for architecture work the MPs could really benefit those vertical/horizontals adjustments in post :). A lot of detail. A little hard on the computer for me now but I’ll deal with it, files are really really detailed. Thanks again for watching.

On days your doing hybrid weddings or shoots do you keep a high shutter speed or higher f stop to expose correctly without a ND filter?
@RickyCheung2 жыл бұрын
Don’t judge. I rack the shutter. 😂 but most hybrid shoots I’m at 60 or higher. When pure vid, I’ll ND.
@diegojuarez42082 жыл бұрын
@@RickyCheung I’m not judging 😂 I’m most likely going to do the same! I’d much rather have a lower f stop over a technically correct shutter speed. For the racked footage to look normal do you use a software?
@RickyCheung2 жыл бұрын
@@diegojuarez4208 honestly for weddings brides couples don’t even notice it. “We” notice it as a technical wrong way of doing things. There is software out there that will mess with jiggers and motion blur. In weddings subjects aren’t moving that fast so….

Thanks for answering my question Ricky, sounds great so with the EF lenses, haven’t gotten mine yet, waiting for camera shops to open from lockdown to actually physically buy it in local camera shop, but then might have to wait longer to get canon basic adapter mount as heard they in short supply
@RickyCheung3 жыл бұрын
There was a short burst of adapters available directly from canon store but it was limited. I think you could sign up for an email notification. My pleasure Valerie, good luck with the camera it will last a long, long time. It’s my personal main camera now, not a loaner, not sponsorship so feel free to ask in the comments about anything. :)

@@RickyCheung Many Thanks
@RickyCheung2 жыл бұрын
The only thing to watch for is the E6N batteries won’t hit the fast frame rate the R5 has for that you need the NH batteries but I personally still use a lot of my older E6N batteries with my R5/E6 with no issues. I rarely need 20fps. 😂

I was interested in if it’s when it does overheat after you shoot some still and switch to video? How much was you able to record 4K hq or 4K 120fps?
@RickyCheung3 жыл бұрын
All controlled by software/timer on the camera from what I’ve read and learned. If you are shooting stills and switch to video it will give you a timer depending on how long or how the thermal reader sees the camera. So it really depends.
@RickyCheung3 жыл бұрын
Depending on what the thermal controllers are saying it will tell you have much time you have on the screen.

@@RickyCheung I got my yesterday. I tried 8k ipb. I was able to record 30min. It’s more than usable
@RickyCheung3 жыл бұрын
8k RAW, 4k120, 4kHQ are the “hot” modes. You should be good with 8k IPB. I personally use more 60/120fps for b-roll. Congrats it’s a great camera.

SUPERB STILL CAMERA. I just started with video and had no issue (I live in Asia, hot hot and humid) with overheating so far. Button customization and ergo is always good. To be honest, the ONLY CONS of this camera for me is the expensive RF lenses. The Samnyang 85mm RF 1.4 is an option but I wish SIGMA comes out with the ART line for RF. Regarding the EVF, to be honest, I strongly believe now that it is all gimmicks, doesn't matter what brand you use... it is good but it eats lotsa battery power, ended up in just normal mode instead of the high performance mode.
@RickyCheung3 жыл бұрын
Yea,,, I realized that leaving it in hi-performance mode eats 🔋 like no tomorrow. Probably will only reserve it for faster-ish action. Still very good and better than the EOS R even in regular mode. Congrats on the camera. What a machine. You should checkout my other video if you are a hybrid, I ran into an issue with C3 custom mode shooting stills.

How many shots it taken on full charge plz plz reply
@RickyCheung3 жыл бұрын
Non scientific but you’ll be looking at 300-500 shots. The key is if you are on high refresh rate on the EVF. 60hz more shots 120hz way less shots. I learned that 60hz is fine for more photography work. For faster panning work 120hz would be great but less shots.
@nitinthakur44073 жыл бұрын
@@RickyCheung on 60hz is it possible to take 500+ shots with EVF
@RickyCheung3 жыл бұрын
I would say it be close to that maybe 425+ to be safe. Really depends on how you shoot. It is less than dslr compared to say my 5D4 but pretty good for mirrorless. Also the EVF eats more battery vs the LCD.

call me crazy cause i have an r6 and r5. the only difference is the r5 has so much more detail you have so much room to crop. if you frame your r6 photography properly where you dont have to crop the 20 mp is way more than plenty.

I agreed 100% I have an R6 now as well. Dual welding R5/R6 for weddings. I really think the R6 fits alot of photographers needs, it has the speed, good res, very decent video specs. I love the R6 as well. It is like you say PLENTY camera for alot of people
