why compare an a7RIII with the R5 when there's an A7RIV?????? also if you make adjustments to the canon, make adjustments to the Sony. Also if the colours bother, manually white balance on site. EASY. Disappointed with this review. Heavily favouring a canon when not warranted. And ironically still struggled to give it props against an old Sony A7RIII
@MannyOrtiz
@MannyOrtiz 3 жыл бұрын
A7RIII is about the same megapixels and still has a monster sensor plus I don’t own the R4 Look at the settings. They are same but Canon was a tad darker. I had to slightly bump it to match. Doesn’t make a difference in the real world. The green tint doesn’t change with a white balance adjustment. It just a characteristic when shooting high contrast scenes. Maaaan, I’m a sony shooter lol I have a sony camera on my merch. I’m giving credit where credit is due 👍

@@MannyOrtiz Listen bro, you are the original. I have an a7iii after watching all those original shoots way back. I will always have love for Manny and if i'm honest i've not had the level of green in shot you have using a grey card. I'm not saying the green isn't there but the language of the review was negative towards the sony when it was unwarranted as these are easily corrected in post and i feel you should have made it V clear that you were reviewing a brand new canon against an OLD tech sony. I have not tested the R5 so i cannot give an opinion i'm just saying it was weighted heavily in canons favour with language and tone. Also i dont feel you even said about the canon being darker on the same settings. Not that that's even that important but i feel if you would mention minor things about sony. you should about the canon too. The reality is we are now finally in an era where both RIV and R5 essentially can produce a more similar image and with post processing be basically identical now. But in terms of Dynamic range. I'm pretty sure the Sony A7RIV would edge it........ and not overheat 😂😂😂😂😂😂 hashtag angry sony fan boy Still love you Manny. I look forward to another OCF lighting tutorial/BTS video

Dude. You got triggered 😤 way too much. Manny is the reason I switched to Sony A7Riii over a Canon from Nikon D850. Relax a bit and enjoy the vids. Also Mac, which gimbal do you think would go well along with an A7Riii & Sigma 85mm / 24mm 1.4 Art lenses. Am getting into video now and found no review of such. The sigma lenses are quite heavy and I fear that calibration / balance might be off.

The flip rear touch screen on the Canon is so useful and I hope Sony will improve that on their still cameras soon. A7s3 showed that it's possible. Knowing and using the dynamic range to it's limit on the camera is very practical for working photographers, especially shooting a model. The time you save on carrying and setting up flashes/reflectors maybe enough to shoot another look or location. Not every working photographer has time or assistants and a crew to setup up every shot. Nice work Manny, I always respect your true honest opinion and how you share your first hand experience.

It’s great working with a model like this who knows what she’s doing. Most of my photo shoots are families and weddings, so I primarily work with non-models. All beautiful people, but not models. The few times I’ve worked with a model, like the person in this video, it’s amazing. They hit their marks, know how to stand and position their body in all the right angles. Such body awareness to know how to stand so perfectly for the camera is hard to do, it’s a trained skill. It’s night and day. I worked with this one model who always took my focal length into consideration because she was keeping the compression of the lens in mind and based that on how she posed. Amazing. Being a good model, like the person in this video, is very hard work.

This video is 🔥 ! Dynamic range is super important. The 5DIV dynamic range was more than enough for anything I ever shot (lots of shadow pulling) but the EOS-R suffered in that area with shadow pattern noise, colour shifts and some banding. I've played with the R5 files and yeah, the dynamic range is now the best of any camera I've ever used for photo, and now with the video overheating issue being mostly remedied with the new firmwares, even better. . In this day and age there is no reason to be brand jumping anymore.

@@adityathakkar9014 If your already invested with Canon glass then the answer is obvious -stay with Canon. But if your not then my advise is rent the A7r3 and use it Sony lenses. Do lots of comparison with photos and use the camera extensively to make sure you like Sony's ergonomics, screen navigation etc. A lot more of your creativity can be harnessed if you also like the camera your using. So yeah rent the Sony. That's what i did and ended up staying with Canon.

It's very simple. You have to know your camera first. You can't shoot every camera the same way. Some sensors have more DR below mid gray , some have more above mid gray, so you have to learn to expose for your subject, and your sensor, if you want to maximize dynamic range.

True. The R5 seems to have added a LOT of dynamic range in the shadows, with a bit less in the highlights (according to some). Some cameras like the Fuji medium format have very good highlight dynamic range (with a bit less in the shadows).

My challenge is using all my EF mount glass on E mount. I'm going to try the Metabones V EF-E and cross my fingers. I would like to use the EOS R5, but in Canada it is more than double the A7R3.

Are you still getting over heating on the R5 with the latest firmware

Always a pleasure watching your videos. Ur an inspiration to all of us. I would love to buy the canon r5 for photos, but its pricey and the over heat issue is a problem for shooting video. Was gonna sell my canon 5d mk4 but I'll wait and see. Keep up the good work bro.
