Nice setup! We rigged out a R5C with a Anton/Bauer 68Wh Titon Base Battery. It last about 4 hours and works good most of the time. You just need to watch the battery life. If it gets below 5% it will corrupt footage, so you need to make sure you change it out around 10% battery life.

This looks like a great set up, thanks for the excellent review. Are you at all worried about shorting out the HDMI port by using one power source for camera and monitor? I'm not sure if having a battery in the camera stops this from being a problem, but I see lots of people have at some time had this happen when using one power source for camera and monitor. There are conflicting recommended processes for avoiding it too. ARRI say turn the power source on, then connect HDMI/SDI. Then disconnect the cables before turning off power. From what I can see, Alvin's cables says the opposite!

I know I am always going on about this but why does SmallRig and other cage manufacturers not listen about the filter. Here you are giving them a big plug and they still do not design the cage so the filters will go in and out without removing the lens.So frustrating as I love SmallRig but none of their cages worked with my R6 with filter so I sent them all back. The really stupid thing is it would not take much to change it.
@damiencooper2 жыл бұрын
I think it would severly compromise the integrity of the cage though. You can't move it back because it's in the way of the cable. You can't leave it out for stability and moving it forward would also make it less stable and would probably get in the way of zooming
@DaveKnowlesFilmmaker2 жыл бұрын
@@damiencooper Not sure what it is like on the R5C cage but certainly on both the cages for the R5 & R6 it only needed a millimetre or two off for the filter to come out.
