6:12 Is there IS on this? Was it turned off before taking the lens of the camera? If so, it should "park" the "floating" element, so nothing rattles inside

@@ME2K23 canon doesn’t have locking mechanisms like Nikon. They use motors to lock it down while turned off basically actively holding it at one place.

The dream of taking full rest raw while recording 4k video is still a dream. But the cool part is the photo is not a screen grab of the video. It is a real photo with much higher resolution than a screen grab can ever be

With R6mk2 if you record video in the photo mode it will use the C3 settings from video mode if you registered them.

The downside is it will always be at the same manual settings so it can be a nuisance since you still have to adjust exposure to the situation you are filming and it will not remember the adjustment when you stop filming so I guess it is better to set it in shutter priority with iso fixed and aperture on auto.

No it doesn’t It jumps into full Auto I have C3 set to 4k 25p manual and when I’m in photo mode no mater what the dial is set to (M AV c1 c2 c3 ) it always goes into auto video If shooting a lot of 4k 50/60 the r3 is probably the best hybrid camera out there ergonomics butter layout and image quality is just superb

I was super excited for the idea of dual photo/video shooting but that jpeg thing is a big let down, especially since you can only enable it in HD video.

That sums up the R5 MK II. It’s a great camera but it’s just not enough to justify buying a new camera if you’re already shooting with the R5, R6 MK II, R3 and getting the results you want.

Probably the r5 II. Maybe r3 as a second (used it as a main for a season) and the r5 original after that. I’ve also used the r6 and after a few weddings you get used to switching modes quickly

@TaylorJacksonPhoto thanks, i have an R6, and I'm a beginner in practicing videography and trying to add it to my photography business, but switching the wheel on the fly while I'm trying to learn the hybrid thing is a bit difficult. I kinda wish pressing the record button in manual didn't make the video mode automatic.

something about the tones and clarity coming out of the new R5 that look *way* better to my eye than the original R5 did. the output from that camera never looked great to me.

It is better. Classic Canon look is back. I always make sure to add the Canon profiles to raw files in Lightroom (not Adobe color)

It's hard to justify 2x+ cost for sure! (+ you need several of the new battery). Also my R5 is not worth as much. I used to be able to move between upgrades getting maybe 2/3 the cost for the old model

I don’t think it’s so great in autofocus for birds, I’m a bit disappointed. I shoot Nikon also…Nikon is the king for wildlife, I like both Canon and Nikon but Nikon is definitely ahead in autofocus and image quality!
