Canon R6 Mark ii Honest Review

This glitch was happening with my Canon RP with 3rd party batteries. The camera would just shut off without warning. Since I've upgraded to my R6MK2, I've only used Canon batteries and have not had an issue. 👍

You can easily print 20x30, even at 40x60 it will look super good, take any of your pictures and show it in your 4K TV at home and you will be surprised to see how good it looks.

That glitch that you are talking about happened to me once while photographing a live event, turning the camera on and off several times did not fix it and I had to take the batter out and then it worked again. I did a firmware update and it never happened to me again.

I was going to upgrade and switch to the Sony A7 IV, from my 70D, but I have a really nice Canon EF 70-200 IS 2.8 lens and a sigma 24/70 2.8 lens, so I think it makes more sense to upgrade to the Canon R6M2 and I will use an adapter and keep my lenses. I want to shoot video in my kitchen and start a KZbin channel now that I'm retired.

If you can print 20x30 with a 12 MP camera, you can go much bigger with a 24 MP camera.

Nope, I kept it! Turns out, it just glitches when I use the cheaper off brand batteries; therefore, now I try to use Canon branded batteries whenever possible! :)

@@mikem6796 Hello, I actually just filmed a wedding yesterday using the Canon R6 Mark ii, and I made sure to have a good Canon battery in the camera during important moments, and the battery glitch never happened. I was very thankful for this! I can't 100% guarantee that it has disappeared as it doesn't always happen to me, but I think using a good Canon battery can reduce the issue. I would just say to always have a backup camera on you for filming if it has an overheating issue in 4K 60fps. I have not had an overheating issue as most of my weddings, I only film in HD 60fps. I just wanted to mention the possibility of this happening. Once I was photographing a wedding, and the videographers Canon R6 (not sure if it was a Mark ii or not) did overheat during speeches. To me, it looked like he may have missed some of the speeches. So again, always have a backup camera body + lens on you ready to go!

@@mikem6796 I use a MacBook Pro 2023 16-inch Laptop (32GB Memory) to edit footage, and no I don’t use proxies. I actually edit mostly in DaVinci Resolve now. My laptop has an Apple M2 Pro Chip. I mostly just edit in HD. So if you’re editing in 4K or over, you might need to use proxies; however, I kinda doubt it. Just get good memory and a fast computer meant for editing! I got 500GB of storage, but I’d actually recommend going for the 1TB storage laptop instead.

BTW, I never seen anyone complain about “your glitch”. May be something is wrong with your camera.

@@frankgarcia It turned out to be a problem with the battery I was using. If I use off-brand camera batteries with this camera, it sometimes shuts off; however, if I use Canon branded batteries, it’s normally just fine! Thankfully, I was able to figure out what was going on!

When I did the Amazon interest free payment plan to buy my camera bodies, I had to sign up for an Amazon Visa Credit Card, and then you make interest free payments from that Credit Card. When you checkout, there may be an option to sign up/apply for an Amazon Visa Credit Card which you then use to purchase the camera body. It's a 12 or 18 month payment plan I believe, and it could be dependent on credit score. I've been about 4 years since I signed up for the Amazon Visa Credit Card, so I don't remember how it works. I hope this helps you though!
