Nice. Seems like a nice little camera with a few useful features.

Not many complaints yet--I know this info is niched down to a really particular viewer so thanks for sticking through it, I plan to be back to regular videos next month!

I'm coming from the 80d. Was thinking about the 90d because because of its size and I'm old school. However, I'm seriously considering the R7 now because of this video . I lean more toward landscape wildlife photography.. I personally prefer crop sensors just for the extended range on the lenses I have. Would you still recommend the R7

I've used the 80d, 90d and M6 Mark II extensively, and would generally prefer the R7--especially if you sometimes like to hit the video switch. However, if the savings can put you behind a better lens, the 90D has a lot of potential for stills.

Is the crop really bad? I want to film people, landscapes, portraits etc. Maybe even use as an expensive webcam sometimes.
@MattRamseyTube Жыл бұрын
Hey, Atachi. Regarding the crop, it's a consistent 1.6x in all photo and video modes--I love that it never changes, so once you adapt to it, it's easy to forget about it (unlike many other cameras where the crop is constantly changing depending on which mode you are using); I can't say for sure if 1.6x is acceptable for your needs, but for mine, it's good in 90% of situations, with only a few wide angle landscapes benefiting from the extra coverage of a full frame camera, or the very occasional shot where a little less depth of field is nice.

outdoor content creators sometimes need to go wide? what are the ultra wide options?
@KevinNordstrom2 жыл бұрын
Well if the RF 14-35F isn't wide enough you can adapt the ef 11-22 lol. I hope canon comes out with an RFS version

Of course everyone will have to account for their particular special needs; I don't do a tremendous amount of wide-angle work, but I've had very good experiences with the Sigma 10-20 mm DSLR zoom lenses--especially the constant aperture one! amzn.to/3chBgCI / A speed-booster paired with a full-frame DSLR lens would also be a good option for most uses. amzn.to/3dP8Obs (I know a couple more affordable third-party options are in development).

Hello my dear I wants a camera For Short filmmaking can I go for R7 or RP
@MattRamseyTube2 жыл бұрын
Hey Diljeet--unless you need a lot of wide-angle shots, I would pick the R7 every day for its high-quality 10-bit 4k60 video with no recording time limit! amzn.to/3PwArU3

The RP is one of the worst modern cameras out there for video as long you care about more than 1080p60 or 4k 25fps.... For Vlogging its probably even better than the R7 for example with RF 35mm, but for most other things its worse, definately.

I just sold my rp and replaced it with r7. Rp and r6, both don't have customized video. Only photo has custome mode. Rp is only good for 1080p. Also, low light was bad and no ibis. R7 is definitely worth it.

The problem with the R7... its price. I would rather go for a 2nd hand Sony A7S III or even Mk2 where you get MUCH MORE for your money.
