@@TaylorJacksonPhoto I own the Samyang/Rokinon 85 1.4 and its GREAT. Its an in-between this lens and the $3000 one from canon. I do WISH i had the macro option but i do at least have the 35mm macro RF from Canon You have to make sure you get the dock so you can do latest firmware update. Using on a Canon R5

I have it and shoot weddings and love it. The size is great, the image quality at F2 is nice. The macro is great for that quick shot or two needed. I haven't started hybrid yet. Hopefully soon. That and the RF 35mm 1.8 macro are great. I don't enjoy using a heavy lens all day long. The Tamron 24-70 2.8 G2 with adapter starts to get heavy after a while.

I love the Fujifilm x100 series of cameras for something super small but you get good higher iso images, great bokeh and of course excellent image quality with the control of a pro camera in a super compact package. I don’t think anything can beat it.

In the R5, the C3 settings can be adjusted and then connected to the record button. Don't know if thats also the case with the R6.

They don’t allow video settings to go to c3 on the R6 sadly. It’s an intentional move to get you to buy the r5 haha

With video especially, did you find the AF was loud as it went to focus on your subject? That's one complaint I keep seeing and I'm hesitant to buy it since I do both photo and video as well

I've been looking at the R6 and R5. For the price, the R6 seams to check most boxes. My one concern though is with weather sealing. Have you run into any issues regarding light to medium rain fall if you have used the R6 in situations such as those?

I shoot with two R6s and have had no problems in even pretty heavy rain with L lenses. These non L lenses do fine in light rain or snow.

I got this lens cheap recently. I also have an adapted EF 85 1.2 usm ii. I think I'm going to try get over the 1.2 thing and stick with the f2 for the faster focus.

At 4:36, you mentioned if the 85 f/1.2 were $500-700 cheaper and had IS, you might get it. If you are a professional wedding photographer, you shouldn't be scrimping on that $500-700 which I believe you could easily earn back from your business. I'm not sure why you'd want an IS on the 85 f1/.2 since it already has such a large aperture to allow for a faster shutter speed. Moreover, with the IBIS on the newer Canon bodies, I don't see any point in having IS. You are shooting mainly human subjects. How low a shutter speed should you use? You'd also realise that if there were IS added to the f/1.2, it would be even heavier and pricer? :) Well, unless you do find the weight of the f/1.2 unbearable, which you mentioned at the start of the video, then I'd urge you to consider the f/1.2. Heck, I think every professional photographer should consider it. I'm not a professional and I do have the f/1.2. No, I'm not rich but I am demanding in the results of my photography as a hobby. With f/1.2, you distinguish yourself as THE PHOTOGRAPHER compared to other amateurs who own the cheaper f/2. I almost got the f/2 recently as a walkabout lens but I've read about the awkward focusing from near to infinity and how slow the AF could be in macro mode. Of course, the photographer is more important in capturing the moments than the lens itself. But at some point in your career, if you are really serious about it, you'd really want to consider the f/1.2.

Focus is slow and noisy and it hunts…and when it does you can start your stop watch. Looks super amateurish with the extended focusing element - like Can on’s cheapest EF lenses. Portraits have that magical look at 1.4. This is a full stop slower. And costs, what? $800Cdn? What a joke. No wonder they’re keeping their mount locked down. They can’t compete.
