Canon SD960 IS Hands-on Video Walkthrough

Good information here. I know this is an old video, but I just bought one of these cameras today at a thrift shop (4/22/22) for $1.00. It came with two batteries (one is an aftermarket battery that may be bad.) and one charger. So far, it seems to be working quite well.

Yes, it does feature zoom in or out while recording HD video. I bought the Canon SD 960 at best buy a few days ago.

Yes, it focuses automatically. I highly recommend this camera. You can buy it at Best Buy because it's on sale through Saturday, which is today.

Your image is pretty clear bro... mine's very blurry. can you play this on an HD 32 in and up and still look the same? I just bought this camera but I'm not too pleased with it... maybe there's something I don't know.

its just the screen aspect ratio. it has no effect on the images or video once transferred to your computer.

Battery is great. I tested it for a week, charge lasted the entire time.

I believe you can only zoom digitally in movie mode which degrades the quality a little bit. Consider Panasonic ZS3 for optically enabled 10x zoom and HD movie

it only has a digital zoom in video mode which degrades the video. the optical lens motor is probably too close to the mic so canon disabled it in video mode.

What is the advantage of the 16:9 ratio? Is there any specific benefit(s) to this? What is the ratio of the PowerShot SD780 IS, and how does it compare to this 960 IS?

Incredible with the color ambiance & sound resonance all captured with thrilling results!!! Should I get it (I might after all, wished I had it for TinaTurner's Concert in London this month) and as fotr the design or color to shape, doesn't bother me... its handy in measutrements and I'd prefer that would-be snatch thief passed it coz it looks undesirable... who cares! I don't buy to show off, its suppose to produce results and it sure does!!! I'll get one soon ... count on it! ;)

Not so much advantage for taking picture, but it's good for viewing video recording.
