Nice shots! I love my t4i. Had it since launch. It's my first and only DSLR. Finally wanting to try a full frame (thinking of the EOS R) but I know the t4i will always be my baby.

These "can you still use this camera today"-videos" are all over KZbin. I would answer that with another question: "What makes a camera, which was top of the line a few years ago, unusable today"? Ones people get over the thought that they can only use newest gear, these videos are not necessary anymore. I built my photography-career with gear usually two generations old, to buy it for lower prices. After 27 years in the business and climbing some of these career-ladders to the very top I can say that gear was never the roadblock in my work. I actually still own a T4i and I would not hesitate to shoot almost every assignment with this body. Brings us back to the old statement: "The photographer takes the photo, not the camera".
@crowina_nutshell5 ай бұрын
While that is true, there is a certain point where the tech really is the limiting factor, for example, one of those "4k Camcorders" that go for about 100 bucks on Amazon that look absolutely horrendous in either photos or video and something like the t4i far surpasses video quality even with a "lower resolution" in video. Some of those Camcorders claim to have 50mp but only really have like 13mp -which don't get used very well anyway- but that's where more expensive/"high-end" cameras show how a higher quality camera can make a lot of difference. Skill can get you far with bad tech, but it can only take you so far, that's where better tech comes in. Basically what I'm trying to say is: A person can be the most skilled photographer but when given a camera with terrible technology, the photo is not likely to look good. So, there is a certain limit to which what you said applies

The only problem is the night performance. Anything above 800 iso and this camera immediately introduces noise. You need an awesome light source to work with this camera.

I’m currently using a T4i and I got to a point where I’m ready to upgrade because I now feel limited. I was actually looking into getting the EOS R and I wanted to ask you if you see any significant difference between the two cameras in photography as far as high quality photos, assuming pro lenses are being used?
@gallegos_prod4 жыл бұрын
The EOS R has been my go to camera. It’s a HUGE upgrade from the T4i. First major difference I noticed was simply the autofocus, it’s super fast! And the lowlight capabilities are also very good. Of course the EOSR is not the best in low light but compared to the T4i, it’s a huge improvement. I currently only own and use two lenses. The RF 24-105 F4 and the Canon Ef 50 f1.8 stm. I really love the eosr. It’s been my first professional level camera and I love the results it puts out! I’d say make the upgrade, you will not regret it!

Yes sadly that is the limit of video on this camera. After it reaches 30 minutes, it stops recording automatically. It’s not huge deal unless you’re recording long format content.

Best settings to use on THIS specific camera and to get out of most of it. I had it at 60fps/720 with a shutter speed of 1/125🙌🏽 The T4i doesn’t have 1080p but it’s still usable footage nonetheless! Hope this helps!

I would definitely say the video quality of b rolls from the t4i were great & competitive in 2021 still. The images appeared to be average however I can't say much beyond that because the settings could have played a major roll in the image quality.
@gallegos_prod3 жыл бұрын
You are 100% correct, Settings always play a major roll! As a beginner/starter, I think the T4i gets the job done and executes. Sure it’s not as fast as these newer cameras but with time, saving up from gigs can lead to that higher end camera. You do have a valid point tho, the image quality is where you fully start to see where it lacks

Just got this camera for a starter (I am loving so far) however I am having a lot of issues with my SD cards for video longer than 4seconds. Currently, I am using a Sony 128GB with R: 227 MB/s & W:150 MB/s - which from my research should be PLENTY to shoot at 1080 24 f/s - BUT it keeps telling me an error message and I’m not sure what to do! After seeing your video I thought I’d ask you and see if you might have an answer or SD card recommendation? Thanks so much in advance, you have been so helpful on here!
@gallegos_prod3 жыл бұрын
The only thing I’d say to try is getting a regular 32GB SanDisk card. I had a 16 and 32GB that I’d always use and never had any issues. It could be that your Sony card could be too modern for the card that it has trouble writing to it or it can be sony coding that it’s having trouble with. Give a more simple card a shot and see if that works.

It is a little outdated whenever it’s compared against these new cameras and their new components that they offer. However, I believe the T4i is a great started camera. If you’re new to cameras and want to learn the ins and outs, I’d recommend it. Even with its age, you can still get commercial work with it!

They both are great solutions. With the camera, you might a more cinematic and a more professional setup. The iPhone cameras are really nice as well though don’t get me wrong. If you decide to go with the iPhone, there’s a nice lavaliere mic I’d recommend. I did a video about it a couple weeks ago and it sounds super professional!
