Canon TV Zoom lens V10x15 15-150mm 1:2.8 Test

Quick test of a retro Canon TV Zoom lens type V10x15 15-150mm F2.8. These lenses were originally made for 1inch sensors which makes them perfect for any Super16 size sensor such as Black Magic Pocket Camera (no vignetting whatsoever) or of course any Super16 film camera. It has a huge 10-1 zoom range which is so perfect for filming, it's parfocal so no loss of focus during zoom and very importantly 'constant aperture' so no loss of exposure during zooming. It is a fast f2.8 lens (through entire range) As you will see in the test (last shot done on f2.8), it's slightly soft on wide angle with aperture fully opened at f2.8 but gains sharpness after f4. It has a lovely smooth retro film look, mechanically it's very good, zoom a little tight but that's better than loose, very clean optics completely free of haze, scratch or fungus of any sort. Physically very clean and neat, very little sign of surface wear. Hope you find it useful. I will be selling this shortly so if you're interested, let me have your offer.

Super 16 lens - It will most likely vignette even on a 2x crop M4/3 sensor ... let alone on APS-C or Full frame.

I got this lens for my BMPCC(super16mm one) on ebay and arrived today, however I can't focus to infinity from 15mm to about 40mm. Someone says its about the adapter, do you have any experience about this issue and what brand are you using with this lens. Also, do you make it parfocal? It's a rare video and I feel happy to see someone sharing some same interests. Thanks.

remove the lenses mount and there will be shims to adjust to parfocal performance. otherwise get your adapter on a lathe but its very fine work as in .001mm makes a difference

got a 10x16 16mm-160mm f2.2 for cheap with fungus. adapted a mount for nikon j1 and it fills the frame like it was made for it. i added 2 lithium battery to power the zoom and built a grip frame and viewfinder lens. full hd camera for under 50 bucks with macro and amazing focus pull. despite quite a bit of fungus its not noticeable in the frame

@@ciattylovesperoni go see his channel, he did a teardown on the lens and shows how to apply power, use the power zoom, auto iris, and vtr record button. full mod including changing the jvc mount to standard c mount (no need on the v10x15) all v series lenses cover 1" sensor native, j series cover 2/3 but often just make 1 with some vignette

Unfortunately not as the production 4k camera has S35 size sensor where this lens is designed for 1inch sensors which is perfect for S16 size sensor on BMPCC
