I began my photographic journey as a Canon shooter and was very pleased with the equipment, but I eventually had to switch to Nikon because Nikon provided far greater value for money, particularly with lenses. However, I kept my Canon L glass and camera body since I still love it to this day.

Can anyone explain the case for canon? I can understand nikon with the f2.8 kit, but if you have that money why not buy sony? Asking because I am saving for full frame and I can’t see a reason.

They have great ergonomics, easy to use UI and some unique lenses (like that 28-70 f2). So really the case is the same as for any other system - it depends on what you need for your work :)

@@yawningmarmot Thanks. I am looking actually for a ff system with solid medium budget wide angles to short telephoto. I don’t need stabilization but would like some good lens options below 100mm. Preferably around 2-2.5k usd for the camera and lens together. I may be biased against canon because I just don’t know their lens options well. Thanks for the tip.

Canon users are like the alpacas of the camera world. They're odd, but they don't care. (For the Canon r100, you have to set your menu to standard. It comes out of the box with a stupid menu that is, well, a stupid menu. You have to dig around before they give you the real menu, and then you have to enable shutter release without a lens present, I don't know why they dumbed down the menu)

I generally only buy m42 lenses these days. The lack of a split prism viewfinder on my DSLR is a daily struggle for me. I want autofocus lenses to stop having stupid focus by wire rings that don't let you manually focus properly.
