This channel is a gem: A genuine, uncut, piece of cheap quartz, in a ditch, with just one squashed googly-eye stuck on it. I subscribed, but forget about me turning on notifications! ..... Really enjoyed this video, like finally being able to enjoy a bowl of porridge after having serious cankers for two weeks and finally eating food without pain, enjoyment. Used to live in that area of Toronto, cool to get a walk around the neighborhood. Thanks!!!

As a full time content creator myself (fishing, not cameras) I have been subjected to trolls and haters. Then when someone with the best intentions leaves a joke or does something that they think is funny, I have taken it the wrong way and snapped at them. This has left both them and I feeling bad. It can be very very hard to differentiate between the real trolls and those that are just trying to be funny. I can understand why the others may have taken you the wrong way and got upset. I hope they watched this video and now have a better understanding.

100% agree. As for Matti Hapoja, I caught him talking nonesense a couple times and don't take him serious anymore. Besides that he most of times doesn't come up with own discoveries or knowledge but copies the content/information of other channels. It's so funny. Throughout the years some channel poped up some fancy tech word and BAMM it's all over KZbin and every channel pretended to be the wise guy. So boring. If I really wanna learn something about film making and gear here's where I keep my eyes on: Gaffer & Gear - KZbin channel about lights by Australian based industry professional Cook Optics - KZbin channel by world renowned lens company Cooke with dozens of interviews by high end industry professionals who talk about their day to day work Set Lightning Technician's Handbook by Harry C. Box - book on gaffer and grip work that became union standard, no other book comes close to that Digital Color Correction by Steve Hullfish - great book about what the title says, there's some more good books about that theme I just choose this one American Cinematographer Manuel by the ASC - funny story about that down below The Cine Lens Manuel by Jay Holben, Christopher Probst - gigantic book about cine lenses and what not, to much to learn in a lifetime ;) Why I still watch your channel? See video above! Fun story: On some KZbin channel that was actually doing nice stuff I critzised a video for using the highly incorrect and technically wrong term "crop camera/factor" that is still used by people who refuse to understand how their gear works. The guy from the channel was totally pissed about that - I was nice for once though - and claimed the ASC was using that term too. So I grabed my copy of the ASC Handbook and looked it up. Well, turned out THEY DON'T. "Crop factor/camera" doesn't even show up in the index in the handbook. The ASC does mention a "transition factor" though in case you have to reshot some stuff with different gear and it also mentions that some cameras crop in on their sensor when using certain settings. I replyed to the channel poiting out that the ASC does not mention any "crop-whatever-bullcrap" but on page this and that they point out the above. Never read back from that guy. When it comes to cameras and film making KZbin is full of bullshit.

Your channel is amazing because of the fact you don't take things too seriously and aren't afraid to point out some very funny things. I know why they hate you.. (they don't.. but eh, maybe they do..lol) If so, its because: 1. You produce 10x as much content as they do.,You do like 20 uploads for every 1 upload they do. 2. You're brutally honest, in a fun and down to Earth kind of way.. 3. I still enjoy other photography channels but not nearly as much as I did a few years back. I still thoroughly enjoy watching you as I don't feel like you're trying to sell me shit I don't need. Plus you're funny. Keep making fun of those other guys. Some of them take themselves a bit too seriously anyways. BTW, I remember watching that ridiculous video tony made by the lake in 2020, very shortly before subscribing to ya and thought it was hilarious. I'm not sure why the term "Toneh" would bother him so much. I'd personally love to have an infamously funny new term thrown out there on the internet for something silly I shared with the world. I guess he doesn't see it that way though.

talking about toneh, the more I shoot, the more I understand that even on a crop sensor - toneh 2.8 is the best toneh, for the most part.

1.8 has its practical uses but 2.8 ff is sweetspot for most of the time

@@Donbros agree, although i'd say it doesn't matter FF or APS-C. I'd go anything lower than f2.8 only if there not enough lighting, not for the depth of field. A lot of great movies are shot on super 35 with T2.8 to T8, depending on a scene.

I like your posts not because I am a Canadian too but because of you honest approach. I don't share all your content and that is fine. Your humor is light and pleasant.
