To be honest I enjoyed his Legends counterpart in terms of the concept of his backstory, Grevious is suppost to be a reflection of what Anakin would later become and having him fall in love and be unknowingly become a tool for the sith really does connect him more to Anakin

It's true that 2D Grievous is meant to fight with hatred and anger, but he would often do it in silence. He seems to know when to mix business with pleasure. The 3D Grievous acted more like an angry animal than a killing machine.

I like Legends the best, but there are elements of canon that I do like. I don't mind that he got defeated by gungans because that was a pretty horrendous move Captain Tarpals landed him with, I also like this gungan so I was glad he got to make the move, instead of some random gungan. They also have those orbs that short circuit droids, I can't imagine that doing Grievous any good. Canon Grievous can have his weak moments sure, but he can have his pretty monstrous moments too. No for me, the only thing I don't like about canon Grievous is the backstory, making him a wannabe jedi is just crap.

Canon Grievous: His bark was bigger than his bite, doesn't know how to stand his ground, couldn't defeat a Padawan, couldn't defeat a group of younglings, couldn't defeat an army of gungans, basically became a terrible villian who shakes his fist angrily and says "I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME JEDI!" whenever he's defeated. Legends Grievous: A viscous, cunning, sadistic, terrifying, Jedi hunting monster, let's his words speak for him, stays quiet during combat, became a nightmare for the Republic and the Jedi Order alike, he would mentally break his enemy before fighting them making them even more scared of him, merciless in battle, knew how to fight, stood against FIVE Jedi and held his own! Meaning he took on five Jedi AT ONCE and won, he has some what a code of honor given he said this line "But know that I, General Grievous, am not entirely without mercy. I shall grant you a warrior's death. PREPARE!" And you know acts more like a warrior.

The gungan General did not "defeat" Grievous. I mean..he did, but not proving to be a better fighter than him. He just took Grievous by surprise. And Grievous has never been defeated by any padawan: When he fought ahsoka she barely escaped alive both times. I prefer Canon Grievous because i like him as a classic evil villain. He is surely weaker, but still powerful. In the kanan comics he defeated and almost killed for two times Depa billaba, master of the council and former apprentice of mace windu...just saying...

Canon Grievous actually has more kills than the 2003 series version if you count the offscreen ones. Those trophies in his Lair in that Clone Wars Episode? Not to mention how many Lightsabers he has! So people, stop complaining. Also, him losing to Gungans isn’t nearly as embarrassing as it sounds. The Gungans are actually a very competent and powerful warrior race. Remember, Jar Jar was exiled for being too clumsy. Not all Gungans are Jar Jar.

He was weakened by Mace Windu crushing his chest in Legends. But him losign to Obi Wan isn't really a problem since Obi Wan was one of the stronger jedi masters. There's a reason why Anakin compares his power to Mace Windu's in Episode 2. And he was suppose to be portrayed that way since he's a jedi killer.

While I agree legends is better, in my opinion, both Grievouses are competent jedi killers in their own way. Legends is a predator, screwing with the minds of his prey. Canon is a Head-first beast heavily underestimated due to being a coward and losing to jar-jar, as when Ahsoka thought Grievous was just another droid and then her entire squadron was owned in two seconds except for her and Rex, and when the jedi padawan of kit fisto was shot with the other 2 hands that secretly held 2 blasters. If you said that the jedi he killed in six seasons was canon's first kill, then you're right. It was his first on-screen kill. If you see his collection, he too killed nameless jedi off-screen (most of them are probably padawans though). Oddly enough though, both Grievouses have lost to the main characters due to plot armor (no. Shaak Ti, Ki Adi Mundi, nor Aalya Secura are considered main characters.) 2D lost to Windu. And 3D lost to Obi Wan and Ahsoka.

TECHNICALLY the clone wars t.v. Show also applies to legends Grevious as it was made before the Disney purchase, though I did hear the 2D cartoon wasn't canon in the first place when legends was the main canon, it's was kinda like how that free maker show is, it could be canon but isn't considered canon even when, again, legends was the main canon

I don't really see why the Lucasfilm Story Group didn't keep everything Clone Wars canon? Mostly because the 3D 2008 CGI Clone Wars has problems fitting into Legends. I would've kept the 2003 Animated Clone Wars series (at least keep the part before Chapter 23 or so. Mostly because of the fact that the arc with Anakin & Obi-Wan wouldn't work. Anakin & Obi-Wan have their The Clone Wars Seasons 1-2 Armor while the Clones have their Phase 2 armor. So not arc where they sneak through the sewers & blow up the shield & no Anakin taveling in the cave. But I would keep the Battle of Courscant) I would keep The Clone Wars novels like The Clone Wars Wild Space & The Clone Wars Gambit series. I would keep The Clone Wars comics & I would keep The Clone Wars games like Republic Heroes & Jedi Alliance. I would even keep original Battlefront 1 & 2 Clone Wars content.
