Wondering: is the rangefinder adjustment behind the plug at the back of the camera for horizontal alignment? My QL17 rangefinder doesn't align at infinity.

Yes, it's behind that plug, you can unscrew it using a piece of rubber for friction,

Good day! Does the DIN film sensitivity scale correspond to the modern ISO system on this lens?

guys im still confused about focusing on this canonet series, how to adjust focus?. in viewfinder i have transparant rectangle in the middle thanks btw

It's as simple as lining up the split image in the viewfinder. It's possible for the rangefinder mechanism to get stuck, in which case the split image won't move.

I have the Canonet QL17, but I cannot for the LIFE of me find the property battery/adaptor setup for the light meter! Any suggestions?

Have you tried a lr44? I have a QL25 and it works fine…although my shutter and aperture blades are stuck together 😓

There are PX625 adapters you can buy, and you can adapt PR44 zinc air batteries. Canonet QL17 giii takes mercury 1.35v cells that are no longer manufactured. Zinc air batteries have similar discharge rate as mercury ones. If you only have LR44 (with px625 adapter, or you could try to make one out of tinfoil 🌝), you can use that. But may need to try a roll to see if you need to adjust your ISO, the voltage might be too strong, and it will underexpose your shots, so compare your cameras meter with your phone or external light meter and adjust. Honestly i just use external light meter, its a hassle. Hope it helps!

Or you might try your luck with a proper 1.3v mercury battery from Russian sellers. They still manufacture those and they are quite long lasting. I have one in my Canonnet 17 and it still has lots of juice after almost two years of shooting.

Can it be used without a battery?

Yes, it can be used without a battery, but the light meter will not work.

this is such a lazy format, no editing, not even showing sample photos, just do a podcast!
