fwiw, I once had the pleasure of visiting with an general that served in Nixon's admin. He was telling us old war stories when someone mentioned Nixon. He gave us a sharp look and told us that Nixon was a great patriot and a good man - and that we shouldn't believe everything we're told about him.

Every time the media has said "is this the next Watergate?" that was not to say "is this the next big scandal?" but rather "is this our next big media spin victory?"

Having been an adolescent at the time I recall following the events pretty keenly in middle high school. I was fortunate enough to have a social studies teacher with an interest in political events that never caused us to lean in either direction but to try and disseminate the info available. When I entered college I began to feel the sense that something about the events were not as portrayed but once I had graduated and began working as a technical contractor in the government sector it became very evident that not all was as it seemed.

I don't know why, but as a child who was barely aware of the world at the time I was both heartbroken and completely skeptical about Watergate. When All The President's Men came out I only saw Nixon as the hero and victim. Sometimes God just gives discernment on issues and I am so glad that the truth is available.

I remember it well. I voted for him. I watched John Dean and how he was treated by the press compared to how his former boss, Richard Nixon, was disrespected. John Dean struck me as a man without character who would sell someone out for less than 30 gold pieces. John Dean saved himself from prison, where he really belonged, by turning on everyone else. He knew President Nixon had nothing to do with the breakin.

This all makes me sick. I don't share the optimism that the DOJ would ever responsibly look into anything from the Nixon prosecution

Another good resource for input along these lines is from the youtube channel America's Untold Stories. They are currently doing a series talking about Watergate and doing episodes on the different actors. Not super organized, it's more them just talking through it, but still very interesting and informative.

I would like to see a Watergate musical 😂. Featuring hits like “Not a Crook”, “Impeachment”, and “Smoking Gun”.

WADR, it’s nothing Ann Coulter hasn’t been saying for years, and about McCarthy as well, a way more controversial figure. If we now know it’s only because they WANT US to know, to keep up the pretence of an Open Society, while they get away with it today and tomorrow 😳
