Hey! I have the 6x12 snap and grow and I have just gotten to the step where you are supposed to lift the greenhouse onto the base. How in the world did you two do it???
@AABackyard3 жыл бұрын
It require both of us, which is why I didn’t get any video during that step. We put two sides of the base together (two Ls) and situated them at opposite corners of the greenhouse. Then, Phil lifted one side while I pushed the base under the greenhouse. Once the greenhouse was resting on the base, we finished attaching the other two corners of the base, then just kinda finished aligning everything. Hope that helps!

Don't you have to install the diagonal braces before mounting the walls and roof?

This is so cute, how is it when it’s windy? I’m looking into getting something like this, I started a butterfly garden two years ago and would love to a small greenhouse. Thank You for sharing 😀🌸🌼🌻
@AABackyard3 жыл бұрын
Shortly after we recorded this video, we got a tornado warning!! We got high winds and I was worried that it would blow away or a branch would break a panel. However, it withstood the high winds without a problem! If yours is in a big open area exposed to winds, make sure it’s secured to the ground well.

Hey, do you think this could be used as an outdoor office? I saw that Palram sells a smaller version. I’d install this inside my large screened in patio, so it will be outside of the sunlight. My two main concerns are air conditioning and keeping bugs out of it. I’d love your feedback on if you think a structure like this could be used as a realistic outdoor office space, especially considering that it won’t be subject to the same elements as it would if it were truly out under the sun. Thanks!
@AABackyard2 жыл бұрын
hi! personally, I think this would be too warm to be a comfortable office. The polycarbonate "glass" panels and less than 1 mm thick. I have a wireless temperature sensor in mine that shows my greenhouse is typically 10-20F warmer than the outdoor air temperature, even outside of direct sun and with the doors open. However, if you give it a try I would love to see if you have a positive experience!

bought something similar to this, but dang its leaks water from the corners and panels. i have to put a few tubes of silicone

Thats nice! I bought the same last year, haven't built it yet! How long did you take to do all of it? Was it all in a day? Thats not bad!

Hello, we have the 8x20 so it has 3 expansions ours is up but when it rains it’s leaking. Can you please help us figure out what to do. My husband bought some stuff to seal it from the concrete pad to greenhouse meet but it’s still leaking from the panels on the roof.
@AABackyard Жыл бұрын
I don’t see leaking from the panels but from the ridge seam. I just accepted it as is and didn’t mind, as water can seem down between my pavers and away through the gravel and sand. Perhaps you could add some gaskets or door frame foam between panels that are leaking?

What size are your pavers? 16x16?

Do the top four corners need to be fixed with screws? Yesterday, the strong wind blew the door off
@AABackyard2 жыл бұрын
Hi! We used all the parts in the kit, nothing extra. Haven’t even attached it to the pavers yet. We had gale force winds last night and everything is still where it should be for us!

I am thinking of getting one. Have you had any issues yet, or are you still happy with it?
@AABackyard Жыл бұрын
Still loving it! Went out last week to find one panel popped in, perhaps a tree limb or snow weight, but I easily pushed it back into place. No visible damage otherwise and with the space heater all my plants are still surviving the winter.

How tall is it where the roof meets the sides? I'm looking at getting this exact one and I can't seem to find that listed anywhere.
@AABackyard2 жыл бұрын
On the base, mine measures 51.5” to the inside corner.
@Ashleigh509 ай бұрын
Why would you have paving on the inside? You may need a concrete edge for the greenhouse to be screwed into, but that's it. Just seems strange having a greenhouse to put 'growbags' inside. IMHO much better to dig into the soil, with added compost great.
@AABackyard8 ай бұрын
Hi! I put pavers down so I could put shelves inside the greenhouse for seed starting ETA: it also gives it a nicer, more complete feel. I did not intend to use this for planting directly into the ground inside.
@megastick93242 жыл бұрын
It looks nice, but, as the owner of one just like it I can say the time lapse is misleading. Some parts aren’t all that easy to “ snap” together and there are a ton of pieces. A couple places are trial and error to figure out also. I did mine alone, the second person would be a big help on some of this. Good job.
@aw5932-u3x Жыл бұрын
how much time does one person need to set it up?
@AABackyard8 ай бұрын
I think it would be pretty difficult with one person. I’d suggest about 2 days, or about 8 hours total?

How's it holding up? Can an able body woman do this herself? Ty
@AABackyard2 жыл бұрын
Hi! It’s holding up great! Currently have a bunch of seed trays out there. I’m on the shorter side, so I definitely appreciated having my husbands help on it. That being said, I feel like with more time and a step ladder I would have been able to get it done by myself eventually. If there’s an option for a friend or neighbor to lend a hand, I’d recommend it.

The panels are very thin and lightweight. So far I am impressed with how they've stood up to wind and fallen branches. For someone with a budget in this range, I think it's an great choice.
