Yakov was my neighbor growing up, I have pictures of Natasha's birthday when we were young girls. This was YEARS AGO. He also sent my family these cute Russian teddy bears we still have around somewhere!

I love that you brought up Joan Rivers and the heckler- such a poignant moment! I first remember Yakov from Night Court- I loved him! Then when I was in high school/college I worked at The Pasta House in Branson and I remember him coming in in a fur coat and I loved that.

Replying to myself to say I just finished. Amazed. Yakov gave me WAY too much for my frontal lobes to handle! I’ll be ruminating for weeks- this was SO good.

Hi 👋 Chelsea here! Wonderful interview Chris! What a lovely man Yakov is. I want to clarify something, my question about having friends was not necessarily for myself, but for my own confusion about it for my significant other, as I don’t think it’s appropriate and it has caused issues with my past relationships. That being said, I think the term “friend” could also be clarified…as a friend who is a co worker, or a Facebook friend/acquaintance that you enjoy reading each other’s posts or conversing with occasionally, etc. However, a friend who takes away from that relationship that should be with your significant other, having intimate conversation or daily interaction, isn’t good. Thank you for asking and answering my question, as it confirms what I felt! Also, I am not married ;). Another subject I want to address is the subconscious and conscience brain and how Yakov touched on that some. My sisters and I have all had issues with a certain type of relationship, being attracted to a certain type of male and always getting hurt. My sister had a good friend who really cared for her and really loved her and that was evident! She cared for him as well, but didn’t seem to be attracted to him like she had been others. One day it clicked in her brain as she realized she was about to lose her friend and decided to choose him with her thinking brain and not her “heart” (subconscious). They are still happily married and love each other, however they do have their marital issues, but nothing like what it was like with other relationships.

Love him as a comedian but as a counselor I just don't see it. There is a difference between going to work for money and going to work for self fulfillment.....that fact went right over his head..
