An interesting yet effective approach to a classic jazz standard where you maintain the jazz feel while (seemingly) disregarding a fundamental walking bass concept.(each note to each beat in the bar). Your interesting fills (or riff packs) while quite basic in terms of construction (tonic, perfect 5th, flat 7th, perfect octave or a variation of the aforementioned intervals) compliment the whole composition and to my ears gives the piece a unique sound and can serve (in my humble opinion) as an excellent study piece for the novice on the verge of intermediate status and for those more orientated toward jazz. Nicely played with a great tone, agreeable rhythm and perfectly explained. Great stuff, keep up your excellent work. We as musicians will all benefit from quality tutorials such as your own. Incidentally could i suggest "All Blues" by Miles Davis as a piece played in your style?

I love your lessons😎 my first lesson was one of yours on a rogue I found in the trash. I had it set up 6years ago and was hooked on bass I've since upgraded to a fender mustang. I practice everyday I 💘 bass guitar, there is so much to learn. Thank you for helping me on this journey to be one of the best-known. 😎😂

@@ebassguitar You know there's a Simpson cartoon where Homer wants to be bassist, he'd would say (playing bass is so easy), actually its play and a challenge that I love not always (so easy) The first word in playing bass is PLAY, not work and that what make the bass guitar FUN for me. Once again thanks for your lessons which are both challenging and fun.

Nice explanation. When I play this piece I always got bored and looking for inspiration for new things to try. Thanks for that. It would be interesting to get some ideas to play it in slap to accentuate the funk side…
