Been planning to do an Amatsu with SnS run since MHGen already but never got around to do one for KZbin. Glad it turned out like this tho since I can now show off Amatsu in HD with the Switch ver.

Some villagers said that before the hunt began while canter was going up the mountain it could be heard from the peak of it "Spare my life" in a really Cozy voice people doubt it was Amatsu but it was the only thing living up there...

You can angle it a lot so that actually isn't that hard. Knocking it out of its twister chargeup still gives me intense agita though.

@@vitriolicAmaranth Sure you *can* angle it, but go test it for yourself again. It hardly changes the angle. As for the twister charge up, all you have to do is hit Amatsu until it finches. You literally just spam your strongest attacks and it's an all but guaranteed flinch. In this case, consistently hitting with the back hop is honestly more impressive.

I have around 800 hunts with sns in 4u and 200 more with guild sns in xx, and just double checked to be sure that it wasn't changed in Gen/XX. You can angle it a lot. The REGULAR backhop into lunge only lets you angle it about 30 degrees, but the CHARGED lunge lets you angle it about 50 degrees, which is pretty prodigious. Since it's in either direction that means you only have to be within the correct 5/18 or close to 1/3 of your target. Combine the much wider hitbox than the weapon model would indicate and the fact that your target is usually a pretty big monster part, like an amatsu head for instance. If your positioning happens to be bad when the twister chargeup begins, you lose sharpness at an inconvenient time or the timing is bad in terms of stagger limit on whatever part you're hitting, and you're not using one of the higher-tier weapons, an interrupt is in no way guaranteed.

plesioth "was" hell before (specially in MHFU)... but in MHGen/XX its like hunting a vecilodrome... but do not underestimate the yian kut-kut, that tail sweep is so fast and with no warning, it still piss me off till this day.

It's not really worth it most of the time imo but Amatsu is somewhat of an exception due to the nature of its headflinch animation, making the head partially unreachable for SnS, so I figured I might as well use that small timeframe in which I can't reach the head to charge my attack

Imo all the weapons are strong but their strength is variable depending on the monster's strenght, body type and weakpoints it is used on, the set used and most important the skill of the player.

Well, if it were just about _power_ everybody would be using HBG, but that doesn't happen since there's other relevant stuff. SnS is good thanks to mobility, quick item usage, mounting, and fast attacks great for status/element, plus KO and draining stamina or critical hits, and being a mounting machine in generations People mistakes it for a weak weapon because others look more nimble or have better damage per hit, it's the first weapon you get handed, and the default X combo everybody does at first is actually weak. Plus it doesn't look like a really fun weapon when you can be using a massive blade or an explosive axe.

According to some polls I've seen, SnS is the least popular weapon among the fanbase. Most people just dismiss it as a beginner weapon and never go back. Shame really, because in the hands of a skilled player, SnS is one of the best weapons in the game. No other weapon can combine its speed, agility, combo potential, elemental/status potential, and surprising amounts of DPS. Plus, the ability to use items is insane. I just hate it when other people diss the SnS, when it reality, it's brilliant.

Amatsu's vacuum sucks so bad..on multiplayer, if your not on the same page some people dive, and some attack, all of you have to do one or the other or prepared to be triple carted..feline insurance is key on this quest too
