I know this is just for fun, but in the spirit of sticking with the theme, you can't enter basset hound mixes with other more agile and athletic breeds. It stops being a basset hound race if every other dog is mixed. There are a lot of dog events for all types, breeds, and sizes. This is a basset hound race. It's just for fun, so we don't need to go all hitler-esque and show 3 generations of papers for every basset, but Calvin has at least 50% of something other than a basset. Sweet dog, but an unfair advantage that takes away from the spirit of the event.
