The Clarendon Outdoor Entertainment Association (COEA) opened Independence Day festivities with a July Fourth Junior Ranch Rodeo. Five-member teams of working ranch cowboys and cowgirls under the age of 18 representing ten working ranches in the region demonstrating their working ranch skills. #COEA #JuniorRodeo #DonkeyRiding #YouthRodeo #RanchRodeo
The last ride features a young cowgirl who shows the donkey who is boss!
The Saint's Roost Independence Day Celebration has been held in Clarendon, Texas for 142 years. There are two more rodeos during the celebration but only the junior rodeo features donkey riding.

So glad to see a participant padded and wearing a helmet. Should be a requirement for young riders! Concussions are cumulative and under 25, (maybe because your brain doesn’t stop growing until 25) having one soon after another can actually kill them. Look it up! We have learned so much on concussions over the years. Kids have committed suicide after concussions. I think kids should still participate but only if properly equipped.
