In Norway, whips have been banned since 1982, that's almost 40 years. There are lots of international studies that show that whipping is animal cruelty. As you can see, every one admires the native who not use the whip, so why can't the others follow him.

These guys can really ride. Amazing mastery. It takes a lot of skill and ability to ride so well in what would otherwise be very dangerous for a less skilled rider. Horse racing may be losing ground from all the horses being put down on tracks for leg injuries, but these guys are proving they are not done with racing and it is as exciting as ever.

For the people saying these horses are being "abused" and not oly the ones in this video but all over the world, these horses love to run. While I agree that whips should not be continuously thrust onto the hindquarters of a horse, I think horseracing is a really cool sport. Don't get me wrong I hate seeing a horse being hurt by a rider--I hate it a lot. But the horses love what they do and you can't take running away from just because their riders are using crop whips. The whips do not always hurt the horses, a lot of the time they are just for noise. Edit: everyone who is saying "stop horseracing" needs to just drink some milk and calm down.

Every time that strap makes contact with the horse's side, the horse accelerates but so does the horse's heart, lungs, and fear level, as well as it's adrenalin. You cannot call this a race. No sir!

Beating a horse is only going to make the horse afraid of you, and afraid of the whip you're using. It's counterproductive. Did not like that guy's riding anyway. Thoroughbred racing, big races, the use of a crop is limited, and they can only use a certain type of crop. That doesn't seem to interfere with their "focus". give me a break. The only focus you'll get is their fear of he whip.

I hate how harsh most of the people are on the horses (not the dapple gray rider, love him!) but everyone else seems to just whip the shit out of the horses even from the start, they don't even realize the concept of stamina. Not to mention the people on the ground that hold the horses immediately start striking at the horses hindquarters the second that they get on. I wish the horses would just buck them off 😒 I always thought that whipping and kicking the horse is useless and won't get you any more speed from them. if they truly love to race they will go full out without any spurs, whips, etc.

This is absolutely disgusting. This is just as bad as regular racing. The dude on the grey is the only one I like. He is the only one that didn't beat the fuck out of the horses he rode. That is y the grey came from behind, and took the lead because he let his horse find its pace, and he let his horse run without whipping the horse. U r supposed to ride ur horse how they like to run. Do they like to come from the back, do they like to have the lead, or do they like to stay in the pack? U win when u pay attention to the preferences of the horse. The whipping is absolutely horrifying to watch in this video. I know those horses r sore and tired. Amber Cobb and Bob Baffert r perfect examples of bad fucking owners and trainers that don't deserve to be around any animals.
