December: a time of joy and love, when gifts are given and received, and celebrations of food and family flourish. Amidst the turmoil of global events, we can take solace in the beauty that surrounds us in the moments we cherish: the smile of a young child, holding hands with a beloved, unconditional love of a pet, the color changes of trees in the fall, and even the first snowflakes falling to the ground. This is what we love and celebrate.
In this spirit, Cantus Novus presents an outstanding choral-orchestral tour-de-force from composer Dan Forrest. Jubilate Deo, for choir, soloists and chamber orchestra is a seven-movement statement from the Book of Psalms performed in seven languages. The concert will also include seasonal favorites sure to bring a smile.
So join the singers of Cantus Novus for a season of beauty, love and jubilation. This is a time to be affirmed, sustained, and reminded that life truly is a treasure, that beauty does indeed surround us if we only take the time to let it in.
