What do you think of this signing? I think it’s awesome.

Kevin Woodley goalie guru says he is on the rise and coming into his own much like Demko did. He might be better than Demko with lots of starts. Great news!😊

Sharks fan turned Canucks bandwagoner here. I love this signing - bargain deal for a good backup.

Great signing. The league minimum is what kind of surprised me. I also thought he'd ask for at least $2 million. If Demko was feeling any kind of pressure to push his rehab for an earlier return, maybe this signing will provide some relief so that he can take his time to heal 100%. Thanks, Clay.

That's a potential difference maker going into next season.

Lankinen would have sit on his ass all season because no other NHL team asked for his services. Might as well play and prevent rust to build up. Good move by Lanki too.

Benning would of signed him for 4.5 million...8 year no trade contract...

I wonder how Demko feels about this

Bringing in both Lankinen and Ferguson is a little concerning. I hope Demko is okay.. Silovs as well. Tolopilo played solid in the young stars tournament, I would hope he would be the starter in Abbotsford. So where does that put everyone else. One of the 5 would have to be traded of sent down to the ECHL, no? Also can we not just put Demko on LTIR and actually let him recover then let him come back in time for the playoffs like Vegas and Tampa? Would give us an extra 5 mil

.905 career and .908 last year. Some of those numbers playing for a horrifically bad Chicago team. Absolute steal. Throw in the fact that after signing an 875k contract he is likely coming in to camp just a bit angry with something to prove. Don't be shocked if he pushes Silovs to new heights as well.

I agree but you also need to understand most pro level hockey players are fine signing for league minimum to have a chance to play in the league. A) they get to play hockey B) there’s no job they could do that will pay close to 875k USD a year otherwise as easily with their talents. C) so many limited jobs with tons of hungry people in the AHL and other leagues trying to make their way up. Getting offered one at minimum is huge.

What would his bonus be if we win the Cup? Plus he could have his name on the Cup. What all players strive for.

Regular season doesn’t matter. You can go .500 for the first 2/3rd of the season and turn it on then and make the playoffs

How so??
@RometiklanАй бұрын
Only a 1 year contract for league minimum. Canucks aren't tied down to this contract if Lankinen isn't a good fit. What's not to like? Let's face it, he's just insurance in case Demko is out a lot longer than anyone anticipates. What if Demko is out until the new year? Canucks can't ride a backup and a 3rd stringer for half the season.
