Thanks so much! I am just opening up an Etsy shop and I got to the thumbnail selection for my first product ever and ugh! So I went searching and found you. I already use Canva for my blog graphics for my homeschooling site, so I am happily familiar with it to use, but I didn't know about the graphics sizes page for social media so that's very helpful.

Thanks! The problem is that there are two different sizes for item listing and thumbnail. So, I guess we are to ignore item listing and upload thumbails?

I use the thumbnail size specifically for the thumbnail only. Then I use the listing image size for all the other photos.

Hi-great video (and love your energy). I followed your instructions to the "T" but when I upload it to Etsy as a listing photo it tells me " Listings look best with photos at least 2000 pixels wide." and it doesn't like the 570x457 px. Am I doing something wrong?

Ok. So size your canvas at 2000 x 2000 pixels.

@@NaturallyLizzie but then the Adjust Thumbnail option cuts off the image and doesn't allow you to make the image smaller.

You have to make sure you place the items near the center of the thumbnail because yes it may cut off something.

I usually download them to my computer. Upload it to the listing as a digital download. The customer gets it directly from Etsy by doing it that way.

Hi! Love your tutorial. I’m trying to open my Etsy store but having an issue with my images looking odd when clicked on magnified. I don’t see where you can just add a thumb nail. I see images are to be 2000 x 2000. What am I missing? Thanks for any help!

www.canva.com/sizes/etsy/ Go to this link to make sure that the size is correct. The thumbnail will show as the first picture of your listing. But if you have the listing pages sizes right you should be fine.

@@robinthompson7834 Hey! I've noticed the same when I upload a new thumbnail. Usually, when you Publish your item, that message will go away. It doesn't let you Preview the item, though.

The legal aspect is all dependent on where you live. Just ask your city licensing department about it. Now I think it’s easier to make them in Canva.

That’s so strange. I’ve been using this same template for all my Etsy listing thumbnails. But I have seen the Etsy size suggestions. I would make a new size with the dimensions Etsy is saying and copy and paste the design you just made. I’m sorry that is happening. I have to figure that out.

@@NaturallyLizzie Yeah, its odd they would have that dimension listed to only say no this wont work. Maybe it depends on what platform you're using? But I did figure out a way around it, no biggie.
