Thanks for doing these budget bike reviews! They are super informative and super helpful!

I bought this exact bike in this exact color earlier in this year on sale for $1,999. I've got about 800 miles on it and it's been great. I ride it pretty much like an XC bike, and even did a 50 mile XC race on it. It pedals fast, handles well, and is just light enough to get away with putting down some serious miles. The reason I got the Neuron and not the Lux or another XC specific bike was mostly comfort - I've got shoulder and wrist issues and the more upright seating position plus the longer travel has been a game changer.

I’ve had this bike for the past year and it just does it all well

Nice! Glad you’ve been enjoying it!

I have the previous generation Neuron, 2022 CF8 model. Lovely bike, definitely is very fast. It comes with the same tires and I am thinking about putting on something grippier.
@99spokes3 ай бұрын
Nice! Yeah, I think throwing on some slightly chunkier tires would probably make it a bit more well rounded, but that would definitely compromise the speed we loved. It's all a give and take!

Currently the lux trail CF 6 has a sale and shares the same price as the new Neuron 6. Which bike would you recommend for normal trails?
@99spokes3 ай бұрын
The Neuron is a bit more well rounded, think 50/50 split on climbing and descending, whereas the lux trail will compromise a bit of downhill speed for pedaling efficiency
@szabolcspap77662 ай бұрын
I have the neuron 6 and on downhill I already max out the suspensions. It is still great uphill. Better than my much lighter XC hardtail. The lux trail with 120mm might get rough down hill. But because of the components and price I think the lux trail price right now is too tempting to ignore.

@@szabolcspap7766 true kinda expected some of the rooty trail sections to be tough for the Lux. But lucky I've waited and now there's a sale for the Spectral AL 6. Can't wait for it to be delivered

Great review. Thanks for taking the time. Im considering jumping into M TB soon. I'll admit, I'm a Canyon fanboy. With that said, im looking for a bike i can use to claim dirt road service, come down, hill trails. Nothing crazy like you guys showed in this video. Would this bike fit my needs?
@99spokes2 ай бұрын
I think so! The Luxe Trail would be even more XC focused

My only problem with this bike is it needs a bigger gear. I am spinning out on flat ground and I’m a beginner rider.
@99spokes4 ай бұрын
Interesting! It has pretty comparable gearing to most other modern mountain bikes. Are you mostly using it for commuting on paved roads paths?If so you could potentially look into getting a larger chainring
@Narezaath4 ай бұрын
Consider switching the front chain ring to something like a 34T. Is what I ride and have no problems with spinning out.

can you put a fox 36 on this frmae?
@derekevans23184 ай бұрын
Canyon lists the headtube length at 125mm, the first thing I found for a fox 36 was a 160mm steer tube length. That leaves 35mm room for your stem. Definetly no spacers, possibly a stem with a shorter section for the steerer tube. There may be other options. I just clicked on the first result. If you don't know what these words mean the steer tube is the middle of the fork that goes up through the headset bearings in the front of your frame. The stem clamps to the fork and your handle bars. I don't see why it wouldn't work. I can't speak for every possible part combination.

You can most definitely put a fox 36

The silliest thing ever when some bike reviewers say: this bike is fast, as if the bike is driving itself and the rider and his power output totally irrelevant... come on how much did Canyon pay you?
@99spokes4 ай бұрын
What reviewers mean when they say that is that the bike picks up more speed more easily with the same amount of rider effort than comparable bikes. Like we said in the video, the flip side to this, as was the case with the Neuron, is that it often feels a bit less composed at super high speeds or in rougher terrain
@marklouieadame4 ай бұрын
I disagree short travel bike are way faster than long travel or enduro bike because of geometry. Add the fast rolling tire, lighter than enduro, less slacker than usual enduro bike.
@IK47-d2l4 ай бұрын
@@marklouieadame it makes sense because long travel suspension is gonna absorb lots of energy not to mention the added weight

Hello. I am the dude in the Hawaiian shirt. I had the option to ride all of these bikes and take them home to see whats what with an extended trial. The canyon is in my garage. Power output is transferred at what seems to be a better percentage compared to the other bikes on test. The combination of geo & build kit make for a speedy bike, compared to the rest of bikes on test. This thing felt like a rocketship compared to the rest of the bikes. I would gladly own this bike especially at the given price.

@@likeaboss882Hawaiian shirt bro. What should I look at for a "spirited hardtail"? I used to ride BMX, so heavy emphasis on spirited. I am on the larger side, 250lbs, I like to go fast, I used to jump triples to the flat for fun on a BMX. What is fun, fast, but not just a dirt jumper? To be clear I am neither overweight, or gym bro beef cake. I am just generally a big dude, so I need a large frame size option.
