This was fantastically eerie and unnerving. Whether it's Lauren being so blissfully unaware of the absolute HORROR of the situation, or the silent ambient humming in the background, or the nonchalant conversation about "Canyoncrowns", as if they're a normal thing... It's magnificent as always. That, and the moviemaker effects are hilarious.

I think at this point humanity has gotten used to all the weird stuff that happens in this universe. Lauren was easily able to look up info on the Canyon Crowns, so they’re probably common knowledge at this point. Not to mention with the Suez Canal Crab, people were more focused on the fact that the government disturbed it than the existence of the crab itself.

bruh.. if you see old youtube of abandoned & cringy ghost hunter explorers would go over the place. people did crazy lenghts going over Area 51. mocking snipers, following trucks and alien hunting. now imagine the weird oddities became like a pokemon/scp of that world. people as always adapt and find ways to get used on what we consider terrifying, unsolved mysteries and government coverups happen. remember the random obelisks that was found on the grand canyons or romania one time? people were hunting such mysteries or anomalies as part of the deanverse life.

Since no one mentioned it, I will- The name “Canyongalan” (that was it, right? I can’t go back and look once I’m typing)- immediately made me think of the Malaysian or Indonesian monster known as the “penanggalan”, which has the head of a woman with just entrails hanging from it, as it flies around at night. It then soaks it’s intestines etc. in vinegar to shrink them enough to fit back into the rest of it’s body. Sounds pretty similar, yeah? Even the name- ending in “-galan”, and the vinegar... I really enjoyed this entry in the series- the whole thing has been great!

According to GizaGuardian, parts that gets cut off by giza glass gets huge but still functional, and the temporary remedy to become small is by using vinegar. Maya is someone that got “terminated” by the freedom statue for getting too close to the truth (according to FreedomFaller), there must be a reason she is mistakenly being kept as a lincoln looker in the first place.

Some things I’d like to note: It made me jump when it popped out, good job with that! It’s actual appearance is horrifying! I was able to pause on the last few frames and I could make out a human nose and some lips, it’s very unsettling. Also, I like how you changed the cheering to screaming at the end as your credits are shown. I love little details like that

The canyon crowns are always depicted as just being large heads. The stuff about shrinking into its body was something the kids' father made up to make them sound more like a harmless animal so the kids wouldn't realize the danger they were in. The canyon crowns are just severed heads that inflate and shrink with vinegar.

Titled "Canyon Crown" I wasn't referring to Freedom slicing off Maya's head. There's a video where you hear Maya scream "No" amongst other things as Freedom finally catches up with her. I was commenting on the noise the Canyon Crown-in This video, Titled Canyon Crown- sort of sounds like ifs repeating over and over again the final words Maya said before Freedom beheaded her. And we know what happens to the heads when their cut with Freedom's sword. They don't die. They become something else.

I really like the way this video vaguely taps into the analogue horror genre with its cheery-yet-unsettling found footage vibe but instead of taking advantage of the overused VHS format it is switched with old school youtube, thus giving it a completely new definition and feel. If I may add my two cents to what's happening: It seems to me that we've been given a glimpse into a concurrently existing alternate universe. I can't decide whether the trees are a benevolent link and alien-like invaders are causing problems or if the trees are the evil themselves. I think the most eerie part about this video is how casually the editor of the video explains the Canyongalan, like it’s just some sort of rare animal. “So yeah, there’s basically this huge floating head that uses vinegar to fit itself into it’s body. Kinda cool ngl”

The more I watch this. The more I wonder. Can maya discern what’s happening? Does she remember? Surely she can, but…I don’t know what Giza glass does to memory. I hope she can remember. If she does. She probably tried to tell her family hello. But didn’t go well
