I am just awed at the natural beauty of California. It never ends. But a question. Why are there photos of everything being green, and other photos of everything yellow and dried up? Does California have a monsoon season?

So the rains usually start a bit in fall but not meaningful till winter, if lucky. Things green up quick but by April the cool season grasses are fading and you are looking at a lot of brown until December. This ranch is said to be in a rain belt. It is receiving whatever is left from what dumps on the coastal range that is squished out by the Sierras. I have fished McClure. Super nice. The green is much more photogenic and appealing to the eye. So not a monsoon season just a very long dry season with some crazy hot thrown in.

@@jgray9978 it’s not Hollywood. Just because it was filmed when it’s all lush, doesn’t mean it’s not real. Everyone knows, that California has all 4 seasons. I love Hornitos, CA.
