My grandfather owned 5000 acres and usually ran about 1000 head of cattle. He built it all from nothing but that was back at a time when hard work gave people a chance to build a good life...unlike now. People work themselves to the bone and most live paycheck to paycheck and many can hardly keep a roof over their heads.
