I'm so glad you did this... I've been thinking of doing the same exact thing but without the fancy 3d print. I haven't yet only because I thought maybe there's a reason no one has done this... maybe it won't work... lol

It's easier to deal with flash than it is to deal with polishing a surface for a sprue.

I know it would be easy to make, but do you have the 3D file for the frame available anywhere?

The frame along with dice cups, dice towers, scenery and all my other 3D models are available for personal use to patrons and members on my patreon or ko-fi pages. ko-fi.com/geekhappens www.patreon.com/GeekHappens

Nice video, thanks! But you got voids on the dice. Wasn't the whole purpose of the sprues to avoid those? I didn't think you'd need to wait before pouring, like you suggested.

Yes, it is, I've done other castings with this mold just fine. The issue this time was way too many micro bubbles already in the resin before I put it in the pressure pot. Normally you should mix the resin slowly to avoid making a bunch of bubbles to begin with and then let it sit for a few minutes so that a lot of the bubbles can surface and pop before putting it in the mold. I mixed it really fast creating a ton of bubbles and never let it sit to let any of them surface, even after putting it in the mold so when I put it in the pressure pot, there was so much air already in the resin, that the excess in the reservoir on top wasn't enough to fill it all in and compensate as intended when pressurized. :(

@@geek-happens I think that just means you need to make the sprues longer by having a thicker cap just to compensate. On top of a more careful resin mix ;)

@@punkrocky4602 I agree. Chunkier sprues for a bigger reservoir.
