Yeah i started as a hobbyist and then went the degree route, one of the reasons i started this channel is that i think the way electronics is taught at degree level is so unintuitive and overly academic. I wondered if there was a way you could teach electronics in a more intuitive way without losing the rigor of the 'mathsy' explanations you get at uni.

Insane! I certainly love to know more about capacitor! Which, I am doing as there are a few videos on the same thing (Yes, I understood that the total is a long one). But I need to know what happens to a signal if that capacitor is replaced with a resistor. I mean, visually. Better still is the visual differences between signal going through capacitor and resistor.

hello, i stumbled upon your channel. im quite enjoying the content. i have a quick question regarding your diagram where the cap discharges in reverse back through the resistor when fully charged(or near that) as the sine wave makes the shift from positive to neg. if this happens as such how is the circuit complete? why even have a ground or and electrolytic cap if the current in simplistic terms just goes back to the source via the input? i appreciate you taking the time if you please. health and happiness to you and yours

why is the phase shift not always 90deg? Vin / R = C dVc/dt sin(t)/RC = dVc/dt int sin(t)/RC * dt = int dVc Vc = -cos(t)/RC therefore phase shift is 90deg
