I'm just saying, if I wanted digital I couldn't be buying a case. Can't wait for 10 years from now and only half of my games are playable because the Switch got replaced by the Nintendo Goobus 3.

To offer a few tips, import whenever possible, many other regions often get real physical games, I have many Switch imports that were bough to own physical games because they never got sold in America. Like 10% of my Switch games are imports, and that is because of other regions getting physical games, like I have a physical version of Okami HD on Switch because I got it from Japan. Most masters support English, and the Switch is region free. Also Ubosoft controls Mario + Rabbids, so direct your anger at them, Nintendo just gave them the IP rights, they did the work and control if they are or are not making physical copies.

No where on the package did it say that I'd need Steam to run it. But no big deal right? I just installed Steam and was off to the races. I played for about 10 minutes before the game crashed. Seems Empire required always on DRM... for single player. Could this get any worse? Yes. The game was launched in such a shotty state that the save function didn't even work.

There are a LOT of areas in Ohio-especially in the southeast-that lack real access to unlimited sources of internet. By this, what I mean is, yes you can get internet on a cellphone. Yes you can get a hotspot. But the only ones available only give you roughly 15-25gb per month. And I say roughly because they throttle the snot out of it when you use roughly half of it. To get high speed internet you have to pay $115-$200 per month for a trash satellite option that frequently drops so slow in speed you can't even open a basic wiki page and they also throttle it after 20gb or so to the point that you might as well not have it at all. Sharing as further proof that yes, there are lots of people in America still without reliable internet and gaming companies are giving lots of customers the middle finger with these stunts

One of my friends asked me if we could play the new Mario Party, I said I didn't have it yet but I'd buy it the next day and we could play then. He was surprised to learn I still bought physical games, I was surprised at myself for having forgotten that digital is ubiquitous nowadays. The only digital copies I own on my switch are a couple indies like Thumper and Golf Story that don't have physical releases (at least when I bought them there weren't; I've seen some indies like Darkest Dungeon get physical releases since then) I just want my games to work after the servers shut down and I have to buy a new-old switch if mine dies (knock on wood). I use Steam on PC, so I'm not against digital games in principle, but I'm one of the oldheads who just wants to put a game in the console and play, like, twenty years from now (kinda how I'm able to play PS2 games today). I know I'll miss out on patches, but I'll take day1 bugs over not having access to my games at all, y'know? I want my games to be an arm's reach away, not on some server where I have to download 20GB on a shitty internet connection before I even get to see the start menu.

If the games that are licensed are rented games, then game developers must have the right to their own games for their own consoles when they develop games for those platforms. And the developers should develop take inspiration from these popular franchises without so many regulations in what character can be played from the Nintendo franchise and what can be made from scratch.

@beauwalker982012 сағат бұрын
I think "Mario and Rabbits" is more of a second or third party game, not first, as apparently Ubisoft has more rights over it, as they basically made it, and Nintendo was only a little bit involved. Overall, I haven't seen Nintendo do it with any first-party games yet, it seems to be only these kinda games. Regardless, buying an empty case is ridiculous... This annoys me too, even the Spyro trilogy only has the first game on the cartridge, and you can't tell me it's due to limited space, because they fit larger games on Switch cards. I think Activision wanted to use a cheaper sized cartridge, sense they didn't want to buy bigger ones, and that's why, and that's a problem. This oddly wasn't an issue in the "old days," because like in the SuperNES era, third-parties like Square used the biggest 32-megabit (not megabyte) sized game cartridges no problem, and getting larger storage cartridges or discs weren't an issue back then, so why is it now? Also, every game physical or not requires an update which is annoying. The only recent game I bought that didn't require a update was Metroid Prime Remastered.

The Mario & Rabbids games ARE NOT Nintendo first party. They are a collab with Ubisoft. Nintendo licensed the characters out to Ubisoft. It is a Ubisoft published title, that's why they did that. Nintendo NEVER does that with their titles, Nintendo first party games always have the a full playable version on their cartridges requiring no download. It's also why those games were so cheap, Nintendo also never discounts games that heavily.
