Cape Canaveral Lighthouse, Florida climb

You can visit this lighthouse thru Cape Canaveral Lighthouse Tours. Or thru the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex as an add on bus tour called “The Rise To Space Tour”. However that tour is currently unavailable until July 2022. The Cape Canaveral Lighthouse Tour is available. Just look up their website. It’s a great way to see the history before our Space program and get inside the ropes of our current space program.

Yeah oh, too bad nobody is allowed to look at it anymore unless you work for NASA or are on a boat in the ocean. After 9/11 they made the lighthouse and a large portion of the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge(which is amazingly beautiful and you can still get access to a lot of it) part of the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and for all practical regards part of a huge military base. I was fortunate enough to do some work at the cave and be badged in but could get only so close. But better than not at all. And if you enjoy the area look up official Titusville tourism video. It's older but still hilarious.

Sonny tried to make the Lighthouse available to the Public. Unfortunately, no one still there cares at all about the Lighthouse or the settlers who were kicked out years ago. Sonny and Lt. Col Randall Horn started a Descendants reunion and made sure all were welcome. That has been discontinued as well. No one loved the Cape the way Sonny Witt did.
