@onebashman2808 That's different. The mongoose is quite resistant to snake venom. But, everything needs to breathe. Pythons clamp down on their prey and are in constriction mode before the prey can react.

Growing up I used to watch this show as seasonal called Rikki-Tikki-Tavi.. I think it was an Indian family who had a mongoose and they keep them as pets, and they treat them very gently and very good, like we would a pet because they can kill the snakes. I'm in my forties now but I would watch that in a heartbeat if they started putting it back on💯❤!

This is seemingly a very aggressive mongoose. Usually its repetitive lightning circles with small bites to wear the cobra down until he spots the opp and goes in for the kill. Never seen one meet face to face like this fella. WOW !!!

The biggest strength for Mongoose is the reverse movement instinct. Sharp and fast and after a few forward attack moves the cobra will tire.

Yes, it is always hard to believe, but on any day the fight between a snake and a mongoose is always lopsided in favor of the latter. Mongooses just know how to win against snakes, and they have no fear whatsoever of a black mamba or a king cobra. I love the mongoose because of this.

Meanwhile King cobras are densier, heavier and thus much slower than its smaller relatives. Their size and lack of speed are their own drawbacks. So in my opinion, a pair of adult mongooses can tackle a king cobra with ease.

These battles are always amazing in the early stages but in truth I have never seen a fight the Mongoose didn't win. The Cobra is a one trick pony but its a deadly trick Mongoose run the wear him down strategy using their lightning speed and just wait for that right angle and time to end it. Super quick and gutsy as hell. Hats off !

If the cobra is approaching full size, it usually can convince the mongoose to leave. I've seen it happen with large snouted cobras. The mongoose seems to judge how large the snake is and how much energy it has.

I don't know how far along the fight had gone before you started filming, but the cobra definitely did not look fast in it's strikes. It was pretty amazing to see how the mongoose just walked right up to the snake and attacked it's head. Good video.

Probably only a minute had elapsed before I started recording. I was so surprised how slow the cobra was, he seemed to be mesmerised by the mongoose from the beginning. Maybe he knew what he was in for, a hiding !!!

Well done capturing this encounter. That is a sizeable adult Cape cobra and not an easy pushover for the Grey Mongoose. You are very fortunate to live amongst these wild animals, and I imagine you are the sort of person who would protect and respect the snakes as much as you do for all the other less-dangerous animals.

Mongoose eradicated snakes in Jamaica and became our folk lore heroes, but with no snakes left to eat they started killing off the chickens and thus became pests.

Cobra didn't know that a Mongoose has super powers, Their modified receptors prevent venom like neurotoxin from binding. so bit all you want.

Mongoose can die if it gets to munch venom in it's système it's not emune to venom it has a résistance to venom.

I would of saved the Cobra,lol...Those Cape Cobra's are beautiful and day will come when that snake venom will replace Narcotic pain meds and already blood pressure and Women's breast cancer drugs.. Tomorrow's wonder drug is venom products..

This is the most badass mangoose I've seen. 😄 it directly grabs cobra's head, without wasting time. Must be very hungry 😄
