Looks like the Boat House is getting cleaned up and repaired. We vacation every winter in Cape Coral, and my wife reminded me that we still have money on a Boat House gift card, so we will be back when they recover. Thanks for the video!

Things will go back to normal. It’s not the first hurricane or the last but we’re FL strong. ❤

The new Florida normal... Just gonna cost a whole lot more if your a resident. Gotta keep padding the politicians and developers pockets. That's been the Florida normal for over 100 years. Build on a swamp, let mother nature tear it up and rebuild it over and over and let the peons pay for it... Keep drinking the kool aid.

good to see all the boats being cleared put of the harbor. The boat ramp is in better shape that i feared. We drove over the day after the hurricane and it looked horrible. Is the ramp still closed?

Such clear footage! Would you share what kind of drone you are using? thank you for this footage. I've been curious but didn't want to be in the way during cleanup.

The dark/ redish waters is that from depth changes, or oil from the hurricane? Pjman55

Tanins from the river vegetation. The river has always had that tint to it. Makes you wonder how people swim at that beach.

The water is usually tea colored. It is where nutrient rich fresh water from the Caloosahatchee meets salt water making it that color.

Too many people lost their livelihoods their homes everything. But I don’t think that area will ever come back and be what it was before. You see a lot of big houses a lot of boats yacht clubs yada yada those kind of people can go anywhere and build anything anywhere. But what about the family lives in a triplex that has a beat up car and working a minimum wage job to take care of your kids and now that job is gone what do you thinks going to happen to them. It would be smart to never stay there and go somewhere else if you can. That hurricane was a terrible thing and don’t forget about the lives that were lost because it. How do you start all over again when now you really have nothing. How do you do it

Sure it will but a lot of the older homes will have to obviously be torn down because they're only at 7' above sea level versus 14 at slab.... There are new homes down there who were barely touched.

How do you recover? You go through your grief, then you put on your big kid pants and do what it takes to survive. Otherwise you live your life as a victim…it’s your choice. You can be an example to the world of whichever path you choose, but it’s still your choice.

10 years from now Ian will only be a memory. This area will see changes as it has since the late 50s. People come and go. It's Florida. The yacht club neighborhood has become more.of a vacation home area every year. A lot of people for different reasons will throw in the towel and sell and move on. People will replace them. My biggest concern even for the homes that were built above the flood level is Cape Corals infrastructure post storms. The water and electric is the long term Achilles heal not to mention the crumbling sea walls. All the years of poor planning and mismanagement in CC will continue to add a huge premium to those who reside there. But they will continue to come
