Cape Fear in the tandem w/ Tara - 2 June 2024

Cape Fear, Lillington to Erwin. 1070 cfs/2.3 on the Lillington gauge. Planned to just be me, Tara, Steve-O and his newbie friend Thomas. At the put-in, met up with Chris Chandler, Howdy, Greg, and a few others - started with 10: our tandem, a couple in a canoe, and 5 single WW boats and a WW canoe. Later down the river met Scott McCall with two others.
Chill level, with plenty of no-risk surf spots and few fun drops. Beautiful day. Now convinced we can take the tandem down more at similar levels and even play in the waves (if Tara will allow).
