Wow I had no idea of the variety of things they had here!

We are so happy you two went here and we insist you come back soon when chef TJ is there as you will be even more spoiled! We enjoy going to cape May and simply ask to speak to the chef and have always had the server say of course. The chefs have been so pleased to show off their skills and have sent additional vegan options over as all parties pay the same price. Look at the multitude of options that Bear can pick from compared to the Princess right? In the end we always consider ourselves blessed that they help us with soy and gluten allergies as well . Cheers to cape May and their talented team and to the Princess and the Bear!

Chef TJ was there the night we went. He just didn't help us. He did check on our table and said hi at one point. His team made all of our dishes, including the dessert. We were so impressed with that.

Can we get a link to where the new princess gets her skirts? 😅

Glad Princess found some chocolate with strawberries to make up for her chocolate strawberry dipped sadness. Super informative video when it comes to the vegan food here which seems to be... ask for the special requests! Those dishes looked lovely, and like more than enough food. Sad that they are by request only though.

Yeah, it's nice to finally have a strawberry redemption story. That was nice. 👸🏽

Bear likes the mule drinks right? Maybe that can be considered for his new favorite drink
@PrincessandtheBear6 ай бұрын
Bear is not into mules as much as Princess.

I love ambrosia and eat it by the quart, but I'm 14th generation costal Georgian so I love some strange foods. Always have to have relish with peas and beans.

Relish with peas and beans? That's a new one. Relish is good on so many things.

Glad we tried this place when it was family style. Much better experience for our family of 4 made up of two vegans, two nut allergy and only one of the 4 rats seafood. We won't be going back unless they go back to family style for some reason.

We always enjoy family style more than buffet. It's the superior format. That's another reason to love Sebastian’s Bistro so much.

I think I know why those Partake cookies taste so funny: 'cause I've run into this with a few brands where they've started to use Rosemary extract in their cookies etc and it makes stuff taste like you're taking a bite of spaghetti at the same time as a cookie. It's SO weird. I looked on their site and, yep, Partake also does that, so maybe that was the weirdness on top of maybe being stale, 'cause the rosemary makes it really weird even fresh.

That is a really interesting fact.

Not a terrible big out but was better with crab legs.

It's unfortunate the Crab legs are extra now.

I have to push back a little. I ate here last week and as a vegan, I was pretty happy. The actual buffet had a pretty solid amount of items available. By ordering by request you don't show a true example of eating here. Not everyone is comfortable asking for the chef or not every waiter is willing to get the chef. No shade just think buffet could be highlighted more
@PrincessandtheBear6 ай бұрын
Totally get that. We did eat everything vegan on the line as well but the request items kept flying over to the table. It was a lot.

I'm from north Carolina so anytime a restaurant offers more than salad and baked potatoes I feel special 😂 I tried asking for the chef and I repeatedly got told everything was labeled on the buffet. A decent spread but I'd still choose Hollywood and vine over this as a vegan
@PrincessandtheBear6 ай бұрын
Yeah, we've had that happen to us before too. It's a matter of insisting. But that's also not something everyone is comfortable with. We're not always comfortable doing it. But if you don't ask for the chef at Cape May, you have zero chance of getting the Chef TJ experience. We try for that, at least at Cape May.

We had the full chef experience here a couple years ago and it was amazing! Also, not just quick sand but also the brumata triangle! Was very concerned about getting lost and never being able to find it on a map.

Hi. Question. What do I need to do to get these Cape May secret menu items? The past few times I’ve gone to Cape May, I mention I’m vegan, the server just says ‘there is stuff for you up there’. Would like to try some of these items on our upcoming trip. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!
@PrincessandtheBear5 ай бұрын
Absolutely! Just ask to speak with the Chef.

I booked there a little while back hoping we’d get something decent from the kitchen. My wife and I both being vegan let the waitress know and she basically said everything is labeled at the buffet and have fun. Never saw a chef which was fine, I know they’re busy, but I stayed and ate a ridiculous amount of whatever vegan stuff I could get at the buffet out of spite. 🫢
