I spent the summer of 1955 in Cape May. It was a delightful time. The place was pretty rural then. I don't think I would recognize the place today. But, I have those beautiful memories. A couple of times a week I would stop in at Julia's luncheonette for a chocolate ice cream cone. The beach was great. I remember waves that were almost 20 feet high at times. We stayed in a cottage owned by the Kelly family. Every morning we would be awakened by a little boy named Billy Hughes. He would peek in our locked screen door saying, "I can see you but you can't see me."

I'm glad you enjoyed it. The whole place looks like a bunch of doll houses stacked together. I highly recommend checking out Cape May if you're in the area.

The ocean in Cape May is very dangerous to swim in because the waves are extremely rough

For young adults on a budget the USCG offers an 8 week all expenses paid "vacation". Enjoy!

Haha yes. It is an amazing destination, very unique, and unlike anywhere else in New Jersey.

If you are blessed to be chosen as the top 1 or 2 members of your particular "60 person tour group" you might even get a chance at a second "all expenses paid extended vacation" in let's say, Maui! Now where else can you get a vacation deal like that?

There is I think a victorian week in spring and fall and you can go through the bed and breakfast s places and tour them and see magnificent Victorian bedroom s with the vanities with the 3way mirror s and the porches even on the first floor and the second floor and on the first floor places for breakfast es and teas And beautiful living room s with fire places and dining room s in beautiful vintage look with all the details so beautiful and unique and homey And they have a fashion show of Victorian dress and Edwardian dress es and twenties etc So beautiful to check out and unique They also have horse and buggy rides fun too Of course you can stay in a bed and breakfast during the summer and go to the beach and even go to wild wood for the fun kid stuff too Unique and fun and so unique going to a more beautiful time and not stay in one of those skyscape beehives where it is like staying in a dentist office to get your teeth drilled so impersonal and cold or go to Cape may and go back to a more romantic time where details were important and beauty and not just utility I love that Cape may places have been preserved and right next to wild wood the kids place so you can get both Winter time people stay to have a Norman Rockwell Christmas and aniverary and take a horse and buggy rides Beautiful and unique

Please, somebody, tell this guy that in English, the words with "str" letter combination in them are being pronounced as ...STR. Street, Straight, Construction, Strawberry, Moonstruck, stroller, strike, etc. Please. It is highly irritating. There is NO any "sh" sound in those, at all !

Cape May is boring after 2 days. Overcrowded in the summer and the locals are extremely rude. The surrounding areas are trashy and sketchy
