Fab video! The bog flower is a butterwort. The green star is actually the leaves (it has a wee purple flower growing from the center in June) and it's also carnivorous, nibbling away at the midges!

Don't know what job you do or who you work for but whoever it is they're bloody lucky to have you,your energy levels and positivity are top notch,an asset to any company+being ultra fit in both senses AND your honesty and comic timing are brilliant despite your unwanted 'guest stars' The Midges,I think I've seen all your vids twice now,never boring,keep up the great work.

Another great video. The Bog Flowers are Butterworts. They are carnivorous and the best thing about them is that they eat Midgies.

Brava on the song! 😊 Loved it! Your videos are so fun, so real, so down to earth and lovely. But it's more than that! I've not found a single one of them boring at any point. You've got an excellent eye for capturing the majesty of the landscapes, and your editing is so great as well! Thank you for all of these, Sarah! Thank you for your smile, thank you for the splendid views. I'm so happy to be subscribed, knowing that I'll get to see all the new videos you create.

47:00, yeah, so if anyone watching is planning for this section of the CWT, I was walking this section a few days ago, got to the quarter of the house in 40+mph wind, heavy rain and cloud, stopped to try and layer up, realised I was v soggy and boardline hypothermic and probably needed to head down rather than carry on up Ben Drevie, but really didn't want to road walk or take the shortcut way. If you look at the Harvey map, there's a track and later intermittent path going through Strath Stack that goes through a really nice sheltered plantation. It adds a couple km on and you miss the summit (not that you could have seen anything that day!), but it pops out back to the main route much earlier without needing to road walk so would really recommend if anyone else does that bit in rubbish conditions and wants to avoid the road as the shelter from the wind and rain was really welcome!! Also, really relate to the madness of that bit of the section.. Was singing VERY loudly about houmous and the breadbags on my hands to make it through....

(Midges) I just wanted to tell you that it is very much appreciated. Have enjoyed watching. Take care Chris from Kent

The fears in the bothy you shared with us definitely resonated with me. I know myself that they are irrational. I once was threatened at knife point on a busy Saturday afternoon on Park Street in Bristol. - Chances to be attacked in a city are far greater than in the outdoors but still, we have these fears in a tent at night when we hear anything.

What to say...? Huge admiration for your mental strength in just keeping going and being honest on camera,I guess all long distance trekkers have been down the road of partial madness as the end draws near. The rucksac looks huge so your physical strength is impressive too. Massive respect. Like others I have watched your 1st 4 films a few times, just been climbing in Spain,had a wet day so watched all 4 in one go.! One tip tho.....eat more!
@Roodoo552 жыл бұрын
It was the same for me when that view came into, er, view after the climb from Inchnadamph. Blew me away. I camped by those lochans on your way down and the midges were the worse they'd been on the whole walk! Top tip - - run for the rocks because they live in the grass.

Hi Sarah - really been looking forward to this episode and it didn't disappoint! Great scenery, photography and humour. The 'bog' plant is Butterwort. As bogs have a very low nitrogen content the plant supplements its nitrogen by trapping insects in the sticky part of its leaves. Doesn't reduce the population of Midge-biters much though!

Top of the morning to you Sarah. I've been waiting for this much anticipated video and it didn't disappoint 🙌 great views and banter from you as always. I was thinking about what you said, if you had a drone and maybe you do or you just didnt take it to save on weight, but the walk bys that you do, you could get the drone to come to you instead of going back for your GoPro. Just an idea im sure the logistics would be a pain when getting it out and repacking it. Sorry I'm waffling lol 😆 oh and I thought the Welsh could sing? 😅 10/10 for effort 👌 thanks for sharing and I'll look forward to your next video in this installment 👌
