What a fantastic film. I’ve been watching your adventure for along time, but I think this might be my first comment. The reason is that you said something wise, beyond your years, and I wanted to reinforce the thought in you. You are young, you’re fit, exploit it and see the world. About eighteen months ago I was in my 20s and did everything I thought was expected of me. The magic eighteen months later and I’m in my mid fifties, fat and… trapped by my circumstances and missed out on your experiences. To see you so fulfilled makes me sad for me but happy for you. Keep doing what you’re doing, keep pushing yourself to experience, and please keep sharing it with those who can’t have it. And if you’re ever in the NW I’ll buy you a coffee pal. Thank you.

Such a sweet comment! Remember it’s never too late to start exploring still (if you are physically able to of course) 🫶

Hey, I'm also in my mid-fifties and I'm heading to Portugal this friday to walk a part of the Fishermans Trail. It's never to late, you just have to make it happen 🙂 Happy hiking

@@JimBobele I will inform my doctors and surgeons that there’s nothing preventing me doing this, it’s in my head and I just need to make it happen. I’m sure they won’t think it’s remotely patronising of you. Now I know I just lack commitment I’m going to learn to fly, just by flapping my arms and the belief I can make it happen. I will also be refunding the NHS for my last month long stay in hospital.

Keep doing it for as long as you can Liam, when I was your age I used to think when I retire I will do this that or the other, I took early retirement then health issues kicked in so a lifetime of dreams are just dreams and not memories like you are making for yourself, the best I can do now is watch others doing my dreams on you tube.

Yes do what you can while you can. I didn’t discover hiking until I walked the Camino at the age of 50 and fell in love with it. I thought my adventures were just beginning until 2 years later while travelling around Australia I got Ross River Fever from a mosquito and have been chronically ill since. My hiking days were over almost as soon as they began. Now I find joy in your videos, seeing the world through your hiking adventures. Keep going, it’s a wonderful lifestyle I miss every day.

You don't have to stop for a while yet but glad you are out there enjoying life Liam. My husband and I, 70 and almost 65, are about to do 2 weeks on the Vía de la Plata. We don't use a tent, we stop in hostals and albergues and we certainly walk less miles a day than you do, but we still love walking and being in nature. ❤

Another great video Liam. I walked the Fishermans Trail about 10 years ago with a friend of mine and it's honestly one of the most beautiful coastlines I've been to. We stayed in villages each night and were treated to great food, wine and of course the Portuguese brandy which is second to none. It's nice to hear someone appreciate how lucky they are just to have the freedom and health to be able to walk for a long distance... not everyone get this opportunity, so definitely something to appreciate. Keep on walking...
