Love your Australian content. I love how you’re so honest to the viewers. It’s not all glamour when touring and you’re the only couple that doesn’t pretend like it’s all fun with no bad times. Keep doing what you’re doing. I love my touring and next trip in a couple of weeks is western Victoria to Nullarbor with the goal to camp on a cliff on the Bight.

Great episode guys, and OMG you got so lucky with the road conditions. We tried to do the cape in 2021 in our Sprinter and had to turn back, the locals were saying the roads were the worst they had ever seen them. We really want to go back - but it will probably be a few years away. Take care on the road to WA.

Welcome back guys, two things if your canopy has a vent open it up will create positive pressure and stop the dust, the other is I have the same setup I lined the tailgate with a sheet of food grade stainless easy to clean and prepare food on……cheers guys and safe travels 🍺🥂
@heatherrowles9930 Жыл бұрын
In all honesty it hasnt changed much up there since we did our trip in our troopy 30 years ago.....the road is in better shape, but then youre right at the end of the season and its kept pretty well graded. It was beautiful to see Fruit Bat Falls again through your eyes, and dont worry, when we were there the camping areas were packed and there were hundreds of us swimming, no crocs. Still one of my favourite places, thank you for taking me there again. Im getting a little teary from the nostalgia. ETA: Having watched all the way to the end, you guys continue looking after yourselves. It is awesome seeing you look so relaxed and happy again.

Thanks guys. Long time follower, first time commenting. I had always been daunted by other youtubers showing how rough the tracks were up to the Cape. Thanks for showing it can be done in an 'average type' vehicle. (and all the King gear. 😅) Drive safe on your long way home. And don't forget to eat! 😊

Thanks - really enjoyed your lighthearted trip up to The Tip. We were there in 2022 so it was so good to see all those familiar places. We have spent a good part of the last 2 years on the road in a Prado with a tent with a vestibule, and a 3x3 gazebo (with sides) and yes we had a folding picnic table that we used a lot! So …. question, how did the PortaLoo go inside the twin-cab? Happy travels!

@29:12. RE the water tank. I think it will be fine up there... I would also make a smaller tank, strap it to the Bullbar ( under the rego plate ), with tie down straps, if you need to use the winch, you can undo the straps, take water tank off etc etc. I would also spray the tanks Black, the sun will attract to the tanks, you'll get warm water.. maybe even a nice shower from it. We did exactly what you two are doing 23 years ago, we were your age and in a spanking new 2.8 DSL Lux. Really enjoying watching your adventures :))) Have fun! regards JT~

I would think that the reason it was so quiet, so hot, good roads, is that the tourist season generally finishes around late September - early October, Before the change of season. It's a pity that you didn't get into Elliott Falls, but I agree, discretion is the better part of valour. It's a pity you didn't have time to explore the rest of the tip. Next time. Re changing wheels - if it will hold air, pump the tyre up first, then you don't have to jack the car up so much.

Good to see you're back in Australia 👍. Didn't tune in while y'all were "overseas". Big fan of EcoFlow products, and good to see I'm not the only one that uses folding camp chairs to support solar panels. If you find the Delta 2 is a bit lacking in power (if your useage increases), I upgraded from the D2 to the Delta 2 Max for our camping power needs. A bit heavier (50lbs), but available power is much better. Ditto on moving that shelf by your heads. Noticed that hazard right off the get go.

Great trip. Good to see it from a different point of view. Most of the Cape York I've seen have always been through the OTT. and the hard wheeling. It's good to see it via the PDR. As mostly what I do is touring. It it weren't for the Crocs, the beaches at the Cape would be far busier. They are some of the best beaches in Australia IMO.

We loved Picanniny Rest Area even though it’s not really a rest area it’s a first class free camp for the way up or back. It was so underrated on Wikicamps we thought something must have been wrong with it. We had it to ourselves also. No midges when we were there though. Shame about Fruitbat and Eliot Falls. Scrubby Creek isn’t too bad and the OTT between there and the Falls is Ok - but get the judgement call for sure (we dragged our van through there a few months ago). You are right there are heaps of examples of people swimming at Fruitbat Falls but we did see a report of a croc siting which closed it for a while. Shame. But there were tons of people when we were there and not so many at Eliot Falls and the Saucepan. It was a flying trip but as you say - have to do it. Stay well.

Hi Guys, love your vids. To significantly cut down on dust entering the back tray, it needs to be pressurised. Normally to do this a closable vent facing toward the front of the vehicie is installed on top and at the front of the canopy and left open of dusty roads thus pressurising the tray area as you move along. In your case it maybe difficult with all your stuff mounted on top. Maybe ARB may have an alternative option.
