In December 2015 we packed up and hit the road for what we thought would be a 12 month Lap of Oz. Fast forward 4 years and we decided to create a video series of our travels to show you all what it’s like to live life on the road!!

We were very lucky last year to get a guided tour from two Aboriginal rangers on that island, what an awesome experience. We got to release baby turtles into the ocean. An experience our family will never forget.

Brings back allot of memories , we did the same trip with my young family 22years ago bit younger than yours are now so they don't really remember it , looks a bit more civilized than when we did it , we towed a camper trailer through the telegraph track which was seen as reckless back then and the batavia downs track was harder than the tele in my memory , no way you would take a van up when we did it , you've inspired me to go back again.It's along way to travel from Vic for a holiday with so many destinations unseen in between.

Great fishing mate. I would be careful using Canola oil for cooking, I found this. "Canola oil is high in omega-3 fatty acids, it becomes easily rancid and foul-smelling when subjected to oxygen and high temperatures". My choice would be Rice Bran Oil, it is tolerant of high temps, has a neutral taste, and is freely available. Keep on fishing. 👍🏻

You guy's really put on a good show(vid's). It has really been a great experience viewing your vid's. And I might add what a lovely family you have!! Have you ever tried filling a snap lock plastic bag with water and a few coins and hanging them around your outdoor area? It supposed to keep the flies away - something about the glinting water being too much for their many eyes.

The Cape is a special place, I think your videos show that and will inspire many to make the trip. I have not been up there (north of Laura) since 1987, the road has improved out of sight but many things appear the same.

Fun little tip: if you can smell chlorine or the kids get sore eyes, it will be because of the urine content of the pool. When chlorine mixes with urine it makes chloride

That's one of the best series of touring I've ever seen. Your choice of segments the day trip with Jack was GREAT his personality completely changed. You could see he was out of his comfort zone. Your information for other travellers and the scenes at twin falls etc was tremendous. How game is your daughter to jump of that ledge into the water. I better mention Billy he seems very switched on to Justin's questions. Bec's eyes life up with the thought of a Woolworths at Weipa. Great effort guys really enjoyed your Cape series.
