More great mods for the Traxxas TRX4M! In this video I install and review the new 59mm oil filled shocks for the TRX4M just released by Injora! I also install the carbon fiber LCG chassis kit made specifically for the TRX4M Bronco. These are great upgrades if you are looking for more performance and additional customization/tuning options for your chassis and suspension!

There are many on the tube that do similar installs and testing. But you my friend take things several clicks deeper. For those that want a brief install and demo could be bored with your methodical and very thorough approach. I enjoy every detail you share. I have been watching for about a year now and have learned before I buy from your channel. I have larger models such as a crazy fast Slash and a brushless TRX4. But I like these 1/18 & 1/24 scale indoor models a little more. You are an asset to my sickness. “Oops I mean hobby!” Keep up your great channel 👍

Hey dude, great coverage on the TRX4M! One thing that no one has covered yet is the Meus crawler gearing. I know the best way forward is a brushless set-up but for those starting out or happy to remain brushed, I want to see if you have tried the new gearing with a faster motor, e.g. Injora 48T and the 25.87:1 gearing. Its midway between stock trialling and crawling - if it still produces slower crawl but giving back some much needed speed would be a great test and review vid!!!

Hi Adam, i got the chassis and I had the 59mm shocks already on the original trx4m chassis. I had a climbing angle of 56 degrees. The front shocks I had put some limiting spacer in, to limit the front lift. Now with the same setup and i tried several shock positions, i lost two degrees of climbing angle ie 54 degrees max now. Do you have any tips to improve and get it back to the level it was?

@CapeCrawlers
@CapeCrawlers Жыл бұрын
Oh, that's a tough one. They both have pros and cons. I like the one-piece frame rails on the grasshopper, and I feel like the design offers more/better options for shock placement. I like that the Injora has the angled skid and is half the cost. But if money was not a consideration, I would use the grasshopper.

Hey I had a question, I recently bought some INJORA 1.0" 62*22mm S5 Super Soft Sticky All Terrain Tires and some INJORA 8PCS Brass High Clearance Links for my trx4m bronco. I am planning on getting the injora 59 ml. shocks you showed in the video to also add on. The tires keep rubbing the body and I was wondering what you might do to fix it? Would the socks help stop the rubbing (witch is very minimal) Appreciate it. And great video! Can’t wait to see what else you have planned for creamsicle.

This might be a stupid question and I may have missed the answer in the video, but why the CF Chassis? I feel like most of the time we're trying to add weight, in which case, the chassis seems counter productive. Second question: Im just now starting my build and I really don't even know where to start. I really like the shocks, but what would you (or anyone) recommend for some first upgrades (and why)? Great videos, thanks!
@2fmrc
@2fmrc Жыл бұрын
I’m sure Adam will answer this for you but you always want to add weight at the axle or below. Cut as much weight above the axle as possible and you’ll perform much better. Keeping the weight as low as possible is the idea. Especially on something like the Trx4m that has a hard body. It’s already got a good amount of weight up high so removing any you can is only going to help performance.

@@ryerye700Longer shocks can offer more flex. But only if the vehicle can flex more without rubbing, binding or having detrimental effects.

@@CapeCrawlers I don`t know how do you do it, that it is so silent, wish mine was the same. Since I`ve installed crawler gears, I`ve re-opened the transmission several times already, but it is always making a lot more gear noise than what I see on your videos.

@@CapeCrawlers Thanks. The stock rear is driving me crazy, not sure if I can wait to get a new one before hacking this one up. Does that one get hung up alot? Looks pretty sweet.

Do you get torque twist on your trx4m?

Yes I do. Being able to adjust the preload on these shocks helps, but it's still there

@@CapeCrawlers it’s been annoying on mine after a week of use and it’s still all stock. Been scouring over the internet for a solution for this that doesn’t cost much like putting portal axles

Random observation, but your audio is slightly out of sync with your video. I noticed this on one of your other videos too. So I thought maybe it was me and dropped the quality to 1080 and same thing. Then I checked another video on Linus tech tips and sound was fine. Not a big deal, just letting you know. Could just be me though.

Any suggestions for servos? Budget options and higher end stuff.
@CapeCrawlers
@CapeCrawlers Жыл бұрын
For the Traxxas? Higher end products that I've run are the NSDRC RS100. They sell a kit that comes with the servo, mount, and horn. It's a fantastic servo, incredibly fast, powerful, and quiet. Budget servos would be an Emax or RampCrab. The latter has a kit for ~$20 that includes the mount and horn!
