Glad the Injora rims are back and the new sliders look great. Overdrive gears were a good add. I think your struggles with the bogginess you were mentioning could be from all the added weight. Still performs very well considering the weight and where that rig began!
@CapeCrawlers2 жыл бұрын
Definitely due to the weight. It’s a heavy girl! I convert it to brushless furitek system in later videos.
@dirtrider882 жыл бұрын
5:09 if you vent the wheels you can place tape over them to seal them back off, its reversible. if you cut a hole in the tire theres no going back. i wouldnt expect someone who has extra weight hanging off the back of their truck to figure that out though, you can have a scale look without severely limiting your capability.
@CapeCrawlers2 жыл бұрын
Good points! I am experimenting more and more with venting wheels and not tires. There is a lot of benefit to that approach. I also heard you can use a small piece of pantyhose over the hole which will keep debris and most water out. Lot's of options and versatility with wheel venting!

Love the idea of punching holes in the foam, definitely going to experiment with that. I've been running the wranglers they are better on dirty rock but the don't get traction on smooth clean rock. Overall pretty happy with them outside of extream crawling.

The vented foams work great in the C10 but didnt conform like I wanted in the bronco. Big improvement over stock foams either way!

I put the portal axels on and not sure about the fitment of the overdrive gears. But I would like to give them a shot if they will fit. I weighed mine after you said your weight. Mine is coming in a 538.2g now. Big difference from stock for sure. I deleted all the stuff off the rack including the bars holding the stuff and I got rid of the spare tire. After my hex extensions I'm running the Trail Kings and cut the foam down to half it's original diameter to give it some sidewall support. No venting. The little Bronco is 150% better today than out of the box.
@CapeCrawlers2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like an awesome build! Did you have to trim the fenders to run the trail kings?
@markgraves94292 жыл бұрын
@@CapeCrawlers Not at all. I used the hex extensions to get some extra clearance. I ran the double barrel shocks tilted back pretty far and they rubbed the bumper. I changed to 43mm full droop shocks on the front and that fixed it.
@TrevorParkJones2 жыл бұрын
I ordered +4 mm Injora axles from China, be here in a couple weeks. Also got high clearance links, and some negative offset wheels coming too. picked up some massive tires, we'll see how well they work with the extensions. Still not a fan of vented tires, but I can see the benefit of it. Thanks for another great video Adam!! Take care!!
@CapeCrawlers2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I’ve been strongly considering those +4mm axles. I see them popping up on my Instagram pretty frequently now and I like the looks of them a lot. Let me know how you like them when you get them!

Have you dripped loctite down into the nut extender and onto the end of the axle. Let. Dry overnight then install should help with wheel nut loss

I had just finished watching episode 6. I think a limiting strap of some sort could really help. I’m running one pretty tight in my c-10 in the center and I really don’t notice any flex loss but I do notice no front end lifting.

Now all we need is a c10 build
@CapeCrawlers2 жыл бұрын
I will do that for sure. The c10 is constantly evolving, but it's in a great place right now with outrageous performance. It will be a fun build overview!
@malcolmlester45852 жыл бұрын
i think you need to limit the travel in the front either by shorter shocks or limiting straps to keep front down.
@CapeCrawlers2 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely right. I use rubber bands for limiting straps and a benefit of those is I can do multiple loops around the body post which tightens the straps. I need to shorten them pretty significantly I think. That will be a good experiment for the next video!

Thanks for sharing,,,,I like the stop sign method for trimming my foams,,gives you the best of both worlds soft when you need it and still good on the side crawl,,,,,thanks again

Stop sign method.. like the shape of a stop sign?
@mattmclaughlin40852 жыл бұрын
@@CapeCrawlers yes hexagon, (maybe more sides) you still get contouring grip,if you slip the top of the foam lifts, but you still have enough foam for side hill

@@mattmclaughlin4085 I will check that out! Someone else recommended a star pattern for similar reasons. Lots of different approaches!

If you're losing the treal deep wheel nuts, you're not tightening them up enough. If you can't tighten them very much before the wheels start binding up on your bearings/knuckles, you need to take some material off the knuckle side of your wheel weights. What's happening is your wheel weights are contacting your bearings before your pins bottom out in their slots. Also, treal sells some "lock washers" for their deep wheel nuts. They're conical and have teeth.
@CapeCrawlers2 жыл бұрын
Good advice. I’ve seen some folks use the little rubber o rings that come with linkage sets. I never tried that before I put the locktite on there but I probably should experiment with what you suggest since I take them off pretty frequently
@kjs64692 жыл бұрын
Not sure how you have your shock springs setup, have you tried soft springs up front and stiffer springs in back? What has also worked for me is using the weighted hex's that you just got upfront and a lighter weighted hex's in back.
@CapeCrawlers2 жыл бұрын
I’m running no springs anywhere. This weekend I plan to put some soft springs in the rear and shift some weight to the front; very similar to what you suggest.

I’m looking at buying either a gladiator or bronco very soon. What are the first mods you would recommend buying with 100$
@CapeCrawlers2 жыл бұрын
I think I responded to you on Instagram but I will here too. I would say a heavy brass diff cover for up front, a good set of metal beadlock wheels and decent set of tires, an Emax servo and aluminum mount, and if budget allows long travel shocks and/or hex extensions.
@dannichols71312 жыл бұрын
Hey just wondering how those tires compare in size to the scramblers. I have the scramblers and love them but I am really liking the look of those wranglers!
@CapeCrawlers2 жыл бұрын
They are quite a bit smaller in terms of height, maybe a quarter inch difference. Width is about the same. The wranglers look and perform great!
